MK Firework Dessert Party

From what I have been told there will be a place for everyone to sit. They are not booking more ressies than seats. They are staggering arrival times in an attempt to aviod the lines that result from everyone checking in at once. I was told they are moving away form assigned seats, but was not given a time frame as to when that will occur. I was assured that eveyone will have a table, but it may or may not be an assigned seat. Basiically everyone should arrive between 1 hour before wishes and 30 min before wishes. The 7:00 ressies for 10:00 wishes are supposedly a computer error. The are, according to a Cm, only showing ressies between 7 and about 8 those nights, as if wishes were at 8 or 8:30. Ther are not booking solid between 7 and 9.It has yet to be fixed, but I was told just to show up and hour before wishes. Again all of this came from a dining CM, so may or may not be correct.

Does anyone have a ressie AFTER 8:30 for a 10:00 wishes night???

It is available through January 4 but is NOT available on 12/30 or 12/31.

HTH :goodvibes

Thanks for the info. However, before I read your reply I called again. The CM told me that it is taking place on 12/31, but it is all booked!! I'm so confused and don't know who or what to believe anymore.:confused3

Has anyone booked 12/31 Fireworks Dessert Party???

I was told by a Dining CM that there ARE Dessert Parties taking place on 12/30 and 12/31, but they are private and tickets are not available to the general public. Perhaps this what the CM meant when he told you it was "all booked"?

Yay!! :yay: Yesterday I was so so lucky and managed to book this for New Year's Day. We fly home the next day so what a lovely ending it will be for our trip.

Thank you to all who posted info on booking it. :flower3:

We went to the Halloween party on 9/29 (this Tuesday), and I was able to book a walk-up for the dessert party. I had called several times, and I checked with the concierge multiple times while we were there, and it was sold out every time I checked. We walked up at 7:30pm, and we were the first walk-ups.

There were PLENTY of tables available for walk-up. At least ten. So don't despair if you can't book a reservation. Just try to walk up the day you're visiting.

I hope they go back to the reserved tables! Our reservation is for 8:00 on 10/24 and since we called the day the extension through October was announced I was hoping we'd have a fairly good table....I really don't want to have to get there at 7:00 either....

Not sure what you mean by "really good table". There really isn't a "really good table" for viewing the fireworks. Most people the night I went stood at the wall to watch the fireworks. The roof is very low at the restaurant, so it is really difficult to see the fireworks above the castle while seated.

The part I liked about the assigned seating is that the "I've got to get the BEST table" stampede mentality was avoided. You didn't have a choice, you walked politely and calmly to your section and looked for your name. Before people realized that was the case on the night I went there was shoving, arguing, bickering in the line while waiting to get our wrist bands. Finally a CM came around and said there was no need to stand around in line and wait, enjoy the park and when the party started your table would be waiting for you and desserts would continue to be replenished.

Have a great time!

Anyone care to guess if they will make the dessert party a regular fixure instead of all of these extensions...We went this past July and would love to go again next July on our anniversary.

i was told by the manager of the dessert party that they are planning to make it permanent... right now they are "cobbling it together" w/the extensions and such until january, when they will close it down to install ceiling fans (because it gets hot under there) and when they reopen it will be a regular thing...

We were there July 3rd and we really found the air to be very managable...But fans would be a nice addition :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if they are planning on doing this in mid-May? My mom was really intrigued by the thought of a dessert buffet :rotfl:

I'm really upset. I called at 7am this morning and was told that 12/30 was the last date for the dessert buffet and was booked. Since we are arriving on the 30th, we were out of luck. I asked if there was any chance of it being extended, and the CM told me no, but was hoping it would be offered again in the future. Now I'm reading so many posts from people that were able to get booked through Jan 2nd which is even outside the 90 day mark. I just don't get it!

If you are staying at a WDW resort you can book 90 days + 10. Which means you can book all your reservations starting from 90 days of your check-in date.

However, we have about 4 different reservations for out stay at BLT, because we could not get all the nights, same views etc. However, I've had some CMs able to book ADRs for my whole vacation, but when I called yesterday to add the dessert party to the 3rd, the CM said she couldn't do it because my reservation number changes on the 2nd. OY, why can one do it & not the other????

Sorry just had to throw that out there since it's so aggravating! Anyway, I just called to add the Dessert Party on the 3rd & the CM said it shows as "no availability". I sure don't get that either! How the heck can someone book New Years Day yesterday & I can't even get the 3rd today? :confused3

Sometimes the CM puts the wrong time in for wishes. You should call back and have them try different times. I called and the CM told me it was booked and she was not very helpful even said Candlelight Processional was booked. So I got off the phone with her called back and got the most helpful CM. I got the dessert party and the Candlelight processional for Tutto Italia. And the call was made minutes within each other. It's not like I waited a day or even an hour. Sometimes I think the CMs are confused on how to book certain events.

Okay I just called back twice & got two different CMs & one told me the party has only been extended till 12/29 & the second one said they are only take reservations up till 12/30 & no further information is available on whether they will extend it beyond that point. Seriously??? I really wish we could book this on-line! :headache: :badpc:

I completely understand you. It's hard to explain to a CM about the DIS so that means we know everything Disney! When you try to tell the CM's something different such as I know there are dessert parties until 1/3 they will still say there are no parties in booking system beyond whatever date. Sorry allshookup. I would just suggest to keep calling but I know what you mean by booking it online/. then you have 2 options of getting what you want accomplished.

:flower3: Fingers crossed that they have it next year :flower3: Sounds like something fun for my family since we hate sitting and waiting for parades/fireworks. We just typically skip them ;)

the 1st cm my wife spoke to said it was only bookable to the 29th, she phoned back and told them we read on dis that people had booked for the 1/2 he said i will check, and came back with the 1/2 so try again and tell them you have read it on here.

I did say that I read on a disney chat board that other people are getting the 2nd & the CM said they must be mistaken. They really don't get how knowledgeable we are I guess! Thanks for the advice guys, but I think I'll call back tomorrow. I hate to say it, but I think the more experienced CMs tend to work on the week days. I also read on another board that it is only extended till the 2nd, so that might be possible too. We already have Le Cellier booked for the 2nd & MK has extra magic hours on the 3rd so that's the night I'm really hoping for. I'll be watching to see if anyone else gets the 3rd. ;)

Okay so I just wanted to give everyone an update. Calling on a week day is a whole different ballgame. I spoke to a CM that was not able to book Jan. 3rd, but she checked the 2nd & sure enough she could've booked a reservation for 7:20pm that evening, but she was concerned at the time because Wishes is at 10:00pm. So she put me on hold for a quite a while, periodically checking in to let me know that she had "higher ups" looking into it. She finally got back to me & said it was an "error in the system" that was allowing bookings to made on Jan. 2nd, because it was completely the wrong time & the dessert party is only going till Dec. 29th & they have no information on whether it will be extended beyond that at this point. I feel much better, because she seemed much more knowledgable & took the extra step to check into the matter. Now I just have to hope that they extend it during the nights we are there.
