Sorry. I posted the wrong Title before. This is the correct subject line.

I have been reasearching the illuminations cruise. I called C/S for some info and when I asked her about the Illuminations cruise, she said it is nice, but she prefers the MagicKingdom fireworks cruise. She said the Illuminations is more of the "IN" the because there are fewr boats and they are harder to get. She told me that the Illuminations fireworks are at their best when you get a spot on land facing the countries in Epcot and cxan see the whole show from there.
The magic kingdom fireworks cruise is $140.00 per boatload and actually easier ( better chance) to reserve because there are 12 boats and the show is nicer. Not as techno as the Illuminations, but something special to be scene from the boat.

Has anyone been on both cruises and have an opinion?

TIA pirate:

It was nice to have the experience, but its different, you can't hear the music at all from the boat. I shared with other DISers and it was fun to meet folks from all over the country.

I haven't done Illuminations, but would like to one day! :teeth: We did the WISHES cruise this past December to celebrate my dad's birthday. I was wonderful...so wonderful that my dad wants to do it again this next December. We were lucky and did hear the music from our pontoon boat. One of the magical gatherings boats was near ours and they had the music piped in for it. We videotaped WISHES and it came out great..music and everything!

Good luck choosing! I'm sure that Illuminations is wonderful too! :sunny:

I shared an Illuminations cruise w/some people I "met" on another board about 2-3 years ago. I was so excited - the way everyone talked about the "Illuminations Cruise", etc. To be honest, I really didn't get what the big deal was. The guys that were in charge of the boats were funny, cracking REALLY lame jokes and made the time we were on board enjoyable. But we felt you could see better and were closer when you're on land. You sit under the bridge near the Beach Club (if memory serves.) The guys did jet my DS and I over to MGM so that we could catch a bus back to our hotel w/o having to fight the Epcot crowds, which quite honestly, was the best part of the "boat ride" IMHO. We enjoyed staying on land enjoying the fireworks from the countries much more than the boat that week.

Just my opinion - Good luck in your decision - have a great vacation!!

I have been told the same thing by cm's, that they have enjoyed wishes cruises more than the illuminations. good luck.

Thats the feeling I got from the C/S. The MK cruise is better and the Illuminations are better from land.
