When we made our reservations for this last trip, the agent suggested the Family Magic Tour. Once I found out the details, it sounded very interesting, so we did it on 10/2. It was AWESOME, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

They tell the adults not to tell the kids, so it will be a surprise. The tour is supposed to be a tour around the Magic Kingdom. However, in the beginning, it is discovered that Peter Pan has stolen Captain Hook's hook. Your tour guide has found a scroll with clues and riddles on it. The goal is to go on a scavenger hunt around the Magic Kingdom to try and find the hook. The map sends you around the park looking for different things. The kids ABSOLUTELY LOVED it, and the adults had a lot of fun too!!! I don't want to spoil the big surprise ending, so I will not tell you how the tour ends. All I can say is, the hunt was so much fun... yes, we found the hook... and the ending, which was a surprise to even the adults, was very memorable!!! :) Trust me...It is something very out of the ordinary, and for someone who has been to Disney World a lot, it was a unique and special treat that we would never be able to do without the tour. If your child likes Peter Pan, it is a MUST.

It is well worth the time (2 1/2 hours) and the money ($25.00/pp). It starts at 10:00am and you have to be at City Hall to check in by 9:45am. There is a break in the middle of it, and they provided coffee and bottle water in the beginning.

One suggestion, don't do this on your first day if this is your first trip to Disney. One family's kids wanted to ride all the rides we were passing because they had never been to Disney before, and so they could have cared less about the hunt. They left the tour early because the kids were so insistent on riding rides, and unfortunately missed the big ending.

I've read a lot of great reviews about this tour. So glad to hear that you had a great time. We are doing the tour next Thursday....Can't wait! We're leaving tomorrow!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

That sounds like fun. Sorry we missed it. Maybe next time.

Yes I agree it is a lot of fun. Although I wouldnt say to do it the first day but I wish I would not have done it our last day there. WE learnt a lot of ways to get around mk and came across quite a lot of characeters during the tour that we missed during the week. It was our first trip last may and well worth every sent.

My DS is 10 will turn 11 while we are at WDW - he likes Peter Pan and Captain Hook - Do you think he would like the tour? Is he too old? We are doing The Magic Behind the Steam Engines but would love to do another tour. Thanks for the info! :flower:

We are booked for Oct. 19. DH, DS9, and me. :flower:

I will post a report when we get home as to how age appropriate it was for DS. Our DS has a VERY active imagination and is always making up scenarios for characters, drawing things, setting up scenes with his action figures, etc. He is also in theater classes. I think the tour will be right up his alley.

We are booked for our Nov/Dec trip! It's a surprise for the kids...I'm so EXCITED!!!!!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :bounce:

:goodvibes My DS also has a very active imagination - he writes his on stories and illustrates them. He also takes theater music, acting, voice and hip hop dance. He has done a few community theater plays and we have just gotten a children's theater so he participates in that also. He aspires to be a singer/actor on day - he has said this since the age of four! I tell him that is great, but you need to get an education first!

So if your son likes it I am sure mine would - please give an update when you return - I will be awaiting to her all about it! :Pinkbounc

Have a safe and enjoyable trip! :wave2:

We did this tour in May with DD 8 and DS 11 - They both LOVED it! It was easily the best thing that we did on our past trip. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to have lots of fun!
