Hi, traveling next January and my ADR's are done but now of course feel like I need to mess with them. Right now I have ressies at Kona. Wondering what people think are other good dining options in and around MK. I have done Ohana and Chef Mickeys, would like to do something else. How is 1900 Park Fare. Don't want to do inside the park as DH and I need a cocktail after a day in the parks.

We are at SSR for the week.

1900 park fare is good...we have been twice our dd was 4 and then 5. Haven't been since because she is now 8 and not into the character dining "thing" as much as she used to be :-( 1900 Park Fare is very noisy, though. The Grand Floridian Cafe is good, as well. We watched Wishes from the restaurant before we went to MVMCP in 2006.

Oh, so many great options on the monorail circuit.:cool1:

We love California Grill, Citricos, Narcoossee's and Kona Cafe. We also enjoy GF Cafe especially for lunch.

Haven't been to the Wave yet but have seen some good reviews.

Is it just you and your DH? If so, I'd consider Victoria and Albert's....the epitome of fine dining in WDW.

What about Tony's Town Square? It's pretty good. I really love the Tiramisu.

However, if it was my choice, I would go to Ohana's. We go there twice on each vacation! Love it!

(We didn't really like 1900 Park Fare, the food wasn't really that great.)

It is DH, myself and four kids DS's ages 14, 10 and 8 and DD-6. Thought about Whispering Canyon, can I get there by ferry from MK? I liked Ohana but littler kids didn't eat much. Hard to find a place that pleases everyone!

Well, forget V&A with the whole crew then.:rotfl:

You can get to Wilderness Lodge via boat or bus but not the large ferry.

My kids enjoyed all the restaurants I mentioned when they were those ages. But maybe stick with Kona. It's quite good and last I knew there were fun desserts for kids.

Are you looking for the best dining or most fun...or combination?

Definately a combination. Fun for kids, lots of options for DH and yummy food and wine for me!

With all those boys, 1900 Park Fare (Cinderella and Company) might not be a top choice. We went in June and not only is it noisy, but the food wasn't that good.

For fun, in that area, Whispering Canyon would probably be your best choice. If you have never been to the Wilderness Lodge, it's a real treat, just a beautiful resort! Check out the menu on allears.net and see if the food appeals to you.:)

I think Whispering Canyon is a great choice for families with kids. They love it!

The food is pretty good and the service is always excellent.

Whispering Canyon is great for kids. They have lincoln logs for them to play with while waiting for a table (your DSs may be a bit old for that). They also have free refills on the milkshakes - big hit with the kids. The servers are very playful - almost like the 50s primetime cafe at DHS.

The food is very good and the lodge is a great place to hang out. Depending on when you eat, you may be able to catch the Electric Water Pageant after dinner - always a treat.

I think we may try Whispering Canyon, another post mentioned the ferry doesn't go there but a boat does? Which boat and could we get back to MK for evening fun?

Yes, you can get back to the MK. You will want to take the red flag boats, the blue flag boats run between resorts. If you are ever not sure the captain usually mentions at the dock where he is going. If not just ask if you get confused. Below is from the Wilderness Lodge FAQ thread on the Resorts Board. Hope this helps!:)

"New transportation routes for service between Wilderness Lodge and the Magic Kingdom: November 2007

Red Flag Boats hours of operation are from 1/2 hour before park opens until 1 1/2 hours after park closing.

The operating times that are posted: Means 1/2 half hour before the opening time of the Magic Kingdom, rather it's EMH (morning) or regular scheduled hours. The boats also continue to run 1 1/2 hour after the Magic Kingdom closes rather regular closing time, EMH (evening) MNSSHP, MVMCP or Pirate & Princess Party.

The larger Red Flag Boats operate between The Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom only. There are two boats that run between the Lodge and MK continuously, on the day I took the new route we had one large Motor Cruisers and one smaller Motor Launches serving the Wilderness Lodge with FWC having two larger Motor Cruisers.

The Red Flag Motor Cruisers Boats Holds appx 150-200 guest. Guest traveling in wheelchairs or ECV's have access without transferring from chairs and strollers may also be left open and rolled directly on board. Note:There is a Warning posted on the dock that states that due to water levels access to wheelchairs /ECV's may not be able to load. (thus the Direct Bus access between Wilderness Lodge and the Magic Kingdom) In over twelve years of visiting Wilderness Lodge I have never seen anyone in a wheelchair or ECV ever not be able to board. Most of the boat is enclosed with AC in the summer and Heat in the winter.

**Please note that if the Red Flag Boat being used is a Motor Launch the same boarding restrictions will apply for strollers, ECV or wheelchairs."

Well I have to say I really loved 1900 Park Fare for dinner and yes it is noisy but I tell you which place isnt at WDW this was my first time at WDW Sept 4-10th and I just rolled with the punches or should I say the noise! but you have so many choices,Ohana,Grand Flordian Cafe, ,Narcooses,Kona, Spirit of Aloha,Whispering Canyon the world is your oyster!

I am planning a WDW visit for 2009 and want to take my niece to the Perfectly Princess Tea Party. It is quite expensive and I want to know if it is worth the $200 dollars. My great-niece will be 4 yo and she likes the Disney Princesses but she is diverse so I don't know that she would be disappointed if we didn't go.

Opinions, please.
