Hello all!

We will we traveling to Disney World in September 2014 with our five year old daughter.

We will be on the DxDP. I have been waiting to book my LAST dining reservation for a Be Our Guest FP lunch.

However, I have been reading mixed reviews about Be Our Guest and quite honestly, the ability to book a FP seems rather frustrating.

I have been considering The Plaza or Liberty Tree Tavern. We have a decent amount of character meals planned, unique options like Tusker House and Jiko, and multiple breakfasts.

However, we don't have any nice, regular meals - I am thinking burgers, pizza, etc.

I like the burger options at Liberty Tree and the diner options at The Plaza.

What should I do? :confused3

I just booked a lunch reservation at LTT, with the option to cancel it if we change our minds.

THOUGHTS?

Thank you in advance!

I've done bog three times and had a poor experience all times.. Only reason we went the third time was we forgot to try the onion soup lol.

I haven't done the plaza or LTT but LTT is on my to do list.. That ooey gooey dessert and the burger is supposed to be the best on property.. I really wanna try that so I recommend LTT :)
Plaza just doesn't do it for me.

ITA!

We had lunch at BOG, and it was just ... meh. Won't be going back there again.

I keep reading that LTT is amazing at lunch, so we've booked that for our upcoming November trip.

I have another slot for an MK dinner, and I've considered the Plaza, but the menu just doesn't appeal to me. It just doesn't feel very special - kind of like food you could get anywhere.

Long story short, LTT would be my vote too. It's what I booked for our upcoming trip!

My vote would be for the Plaza. I especially love lunch there - sometimes the Mayor of Main Street will walk in and roam the restaurant. The food is great, the desserts are delicious and I've never had a bad experience there. :)

Enjoy your trip!

Having had lunch at BoG and at LTT, I'd recommend LTT. Especially if you can do dinner at BoG.

We did lunch & dinner at BoG, and found lunch underwhelming food-wise. Even with FP, it was just not an enjoyable experience.

LTT is phenomenal for lunch! I had the declaration salad and it was so yummy! The ooey gooey dessert was to die for! We've booked it for our next trip.

If you have an ADR for BOG for dinner, then go with LTT for lunch. If no BOG dinner, then you simply must do BOG for lunch. Work with the FP+ option, it is totally worth it. The line looks painful.

People like to complain, especially in forums. Most people have a great time at BOG. We are in the later category. Dinner x2 and lunch once on 2 different trips. I prefer dinner at BOG to lunch, but it is a must-do. Disney really did a great job with the design of the place, and honestly, the food options fit our family better than most of the menus at MK.

I agree with pp's I would do lunch at Liberty Tree tavern and dinner at BOG ... I have more written below : )

We did lunch at LTT on our trip at the beginning of May, it was really good. A nice place to sit and cool off. But our waitress was a ditz! She yakked way too much, shared way too much personal info and to top it off she gave us the wrong bill which DH signed off on, sigh. Then he realized his mistake before leaving the table as he got to thinking that was higher than expected, it took her a long time to correct. She did bring us cold water bottles to take into the park with us and it did all get worked out. Didn't take away from the food.

Plaza was our dinner stop and it was very good but we waited 20 min beyond our ADR time.

I say bog. At Ltt Dh and I had liberty boys blt which is pork belly was not a hit with either of us.... Server noticed we didnt eat much, wanted us to order something else I said we were in a hurry and don't worry about it did not ask to comp it or anything like that. Told him we were ready for dessert wait a while and instead of dessert he brings back the menu and says to dh very quietly to try the pot roast dh says no thanks just dessert. Waited a while again for dessert then after scanning bands to pay he was mia for fifteen more before passing our table and having my husband ask for the copy to sign so we can go!!! I understand it is important to make the guest happy but after being told no thanks....we werr so glad to get out of there!
Bog lunch was good easy to use kiosk food was very good for quick service. Castle is awesome.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I feel like the above statement is an attempt to marginalize my opinion (and the opinion of some others in this thread).

If you love BOG - great. I've read reports from lots of people who agree with you. By the same token, I've seen lots of reports of people who didn't enjoy it at all. Count me in that group. The castle is gorgeous, but the food just wasn't tasty at all. Maybe I got some bad food. I have to figure this is the case, because I had watery tasteless onion soup, and I've seen people rave about the soup. I don't think they're wrong. I just think they had a different product than I had. Regardless, maybe there's a quality control issue because my soup was just ... crap.

Now don't get me wrong. I could have read 1000 reports like mine, and you couldn't have talked me out of standing in the hot sun on that bridge waiting for my chance to experience BOG. However, it was not time well spent, and I feel like others may benefit from knowing this.

I'm just one person. I'm not trying to speak for anyone else. But I'm not someone who "just like(s) to complain", and I'm not necessarily in the minority just because one person says so.

If details help, we had French onion soup, quiche, croque monsieurs (2 of them), and a grey stuff cupcake. The sandwiches were ok. The quiche was dry and flavorless. The cupcake was cloyingly sweet and nothing special. I wouldn't pay again to eat any of it. I was actually sad that we skipped Columbia Harbor House for BOG. My family thought I was crazy for insisting that we try the place.

My vote would be for BOG...We loved our food and the atompshere simply can't be missed in my opinion.

yeah I was thinking the same thing lol.. I mainly talk about how great restaurants are and am pretty positive since I'm laid back, easy going type of guy but the BOG is just not worth it..

We had 2 lunches, once over Christmas, once a few weeks ago. Horrible staffing both times, crazy chaotic environment both times, food was descent though.. I had the croque both times.. good stuff. my son had the roast beef sammy which I had half of and it was good.. this last time the wife and I shareed the onion soup. it was pretty good, I've never had soup like that before so no idea what it should be like but it was smothered in cheese so I ate it lol.

we had dinner there once.. walked in and had the grand welcoming entrance where all the staff came to the front foyer and clapped and cheered as me and my family walked in.. what a treat that was.. was not as chaotic but food wasnt all that..

it is a great WDW place to experience just to walk around and see the castle I guess, if you are into that.

Of the 3 I've never been to BOG but have it on our ADR for November ... Have to try it once : ) Plaza I've been to at Disneyland California and it's a different set up being more of a cafeteria style of eating unlike plaza in Florida that is TS. just never was interested in eating there in Florida. But after all that ... I have been to Liberty tree several times and had great dining experiences at both lunch and dinner, but I prefer Lunch so I can have the ooy gooy dessert : )

Yikes I guess I am not much help ... But for our November trip I do have BOG and Liberty Tree reservations made, something old and something new : )

If you have never been to BOG, I would do that. We really loved our lunch at BOG in February. The meals were really good. The restaurant is worth seeing IMO. They bring your food out to you which is nice and my son thought it was really cool that they knew where we were!

I LOVE The Plaza but it would be a waste of a DDP credit, well so would BOG for lunch. If you don't get a FP invite, you can always try on the website and if you don't get a FP, you can still walk up, just go at off times and you'll be fine.

We loved our BOG lunch. Having said that, I think that all 3 choices are good ones. I might pick The Plaza since the menu is so simple and to balance out the others on the DxDP.

If you can get a be our guest fastpass I would definately pick it. The food is great and the castle is beautiful

I'd keep LTT. We tried it for the 1st time last year (after 42 trips to WDW in all) and I loved it. It is now a must do for me. I had the Liberty Boy BLT and DH had the pot roast. We had the shrimp and crab appetizer for 2 and the Ooey gooey butter cake. Everything was delicious.

Here's a tip - DO NOT SHARE dessert! I don't care how full you are. Trust me. Don't do it.

Another note regarding BOG at lunch. Note that this is a QS location for lunch and not the best use of your deluxe dining plan. I've heard wonderful things about the potato leek soup, but have not been.

As a Dine agent, I really should try it so I can pass on my information to my guests. My DH really just wants to see the inside. I'm thinking we may go in early or later one day just to get the soup. That way we're only spending a snack credit on our deluxe plan.

Whatever you decide - Have a MAGICAL Trip!
