Typically what are the crowds like on Chrstmas Day at the MK? My boss is heading down to Florida and is planning a day trip to the Magic Kingdom. I've never been to WDW during the Holidays so I really don't know.

Any information will be appreciated! Thanks...

Totally slammed... It will be very, very crowded and the park may actually close due to capacity early in the day.

It's been years since we've gone to MK on Christmas Day, but I remember the park closing to off-site guests by mid-morning. Originally, we weren't planning on venturing into this park on Dec. 25th. Now, we have late morning reservations for brunch at CM. We may be daring and make a quick trip to the park early, early in the morning...if the kids awake at the crack of dawn as they generally do on Christmas Day.

Please consider any other park. Epcot has some great Christmas festivities and handles crowds so much better. ::yes::

100% correct. Only a fool does the MK on Christmas day.

Which I guess leads to the question - just how nice is the boss? That would determine whether I'd want to save them from themselves....

:smooth:

I've read that all of the parks are busy on Christmas Day, but I see that someone else recommended Epcot. We're having dinner at Crystal Palace in MK, but would you say we should spend our morning somewhere else?

Thank you all for your input. Obviously from all the comments, my boss will be making "alternative" plans for Christmas Day!!

You all voiced what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure. Again, thanks!!

NO... You might not get in to dinner.

The parks close in stages and if the place gets FULL then you are not going to be let in.

Remember, resort guest are guranteed admission to a A park, not the park of your choice. If I were going to the MK I would plan to arrive early and stay all day....

Like I have in my signature, I got my whole family going next Christmas.
We are staying away from the parks Christmas Day. We are going to cook a traditional Christmas dinner. Eat dinner early then head to Downtown Disney?
Just a thought, I dont even know if it will be open...anyone know?
That will be our first Christmas trip.

Maybe a movie?

STAY AWAY :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
If you want to have dinner at MK get to the park early, better yet go to a different park. Leave Christmas day to the pros :rotfl: :rotfl: :cool1: :cool1: we will be at WDW over Christmas, our 7th holiday trip, and we will stay far away from MK on the 25th. ( We will be at MK on the 24th at the crack of dawn)
Nothing better than WDW over the holidays

How is MK the day after Christmas? I knew MK would be nuts so we are going to Epcot on the 25th, but I was figuring MK wouldn't be as bad the next day. Any advice?
TIA!

We were at the Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day 2004. We went fairly early and were able to ride several good rides before it got to crowded. Then it started raining and it was cold so it got misirible by 2:00. We had dinner reservations at Whispering Canyon at the WL and left by boat at 2:00. We went back to our room after that and just took it easy the rest of the day. We are going this Thanksgiving and for some unknown reason decided to have Thanksgiving dinner at the Crystal Palace at 2:00. Even though I knew better than to plan to go to MK on Thanksgiving day. Oh well I guess we'll just go early and hope for the best. Like another poster said if you have dinner reservations at MK for later in the day you better go to that park first thing in the morning and stay there. Once they close a park they will not let anyone in even if you have ADR's for a place in the park.

Forgot to say that the day after Christmas last year MK was closed because it was full by about 1:30 on the day after Christmas. It hit capacity for about three days after Christmas last year.

Thanks, we are hitting MK the 15th, 16th, and 24th so hopefully we will see everything we want before xmas. Plus we are doing MVMCP so we can hit the big rides then and skip them on park days. I will also be 7 months pregnant so it won't be long days for us anyway. I guess I need to get my butt in gear early and get down there.
Thanks for the info!

Edited to add we have dinner reservations at 1900 at 6pm so we would bail out around 5 anyway.
