We are going to the MK in mid to late Jan, and are wondering about how bad the crowds will be. Will it still be necessary to stick to the "Unofficial Guide" touring plans or will it be less hectic???

My family will be there as well and everything that I have read from the Unofficial Guides to the threads on this board point to relatively low crowds. We have been in Feb. and would definitely go again at that time. Great weather and pretty low attendance. Either way...we will all have a great time!:teeth:

This is the third year in a row that we are going the last week in january. There have not been any crowds. It has been great

Ask my dd about crowds he last week of January 2003. She went on Peter Pan 14 times in 2 days! :) Everything was walk on. Well worth the trade off for shorter park hours. I love going in January.

Glad to hear this as DH and I are going Jan 26-30th. Only thing I'm not sure what to pack yet. Hope the weathers warm. I'll be checking the weather before we leave to make sure I have the right clothes packed.

I found info about a 15 day weather forcast from WWW.WDWIG.COM Looks like things are going to be cold almost up until we go... Crossing fingers it WARMS UP!!!! I read a thread somewhere about taking pocket warmers from walmart for a buck and mittens.

Hope this helps,
Lew

I dont' have to even look at the weather to know it will prob be cold. Every year at this time, when we start to pack, the weather gets cold LOL. We dont' mind we have warm jackets.

Do you "frequent January-goers" actually bring winter coats or is that a bit much? We will be there from the 25th to the 31st. I was planning on bringing hats and gloves but just wearing a sweatshirt on top of a t-shirt and then throwing on a spring jacket. Is that not warm enough for winter nights in Orlando?

That should be plenty. The parks close early in January so you aren't there when it is cold. My family hasn't wore more than a sweatshirt. We are from wisconsin so if the temperature is in the 60's that is warm to us.

We are going Jan 21-30. What is everyone considering to be cold? I hadn't planned on bring mittens or winter jackets!

Take your gloves and warm coats. The temperature is very variable in Jan. I have been there the past four Januarys and had temps from mid-80s to a HIGH of mid 40s and a low in the 20s(last week of Jan 03, first week of 02) It has actually been as cold in Orlando as it has been in Philadelphia. While the average low may be in the low 60s, you should check a weather site that gives last year's daily highs and lows. If you look at long range weather reports for more than 7 days, they are giving you past year averages. Hope that it is just wasted suitcase space, better than trying to but gloves in the Sunny state!

WILL IT BE WARM ENOUGH FOR MY 8 YR OLD TO GO SWIMMING IN THE POOL? WE ARE IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND ITS ABOUT 8 DEGREES TODAY IF THAT.

Our family of 5 and our friends with their family of 4 will be there 1/24/-1/31! We went last year at the same time and there was no wait whatsoever, we made our decision then to return this time of year again!:D Weather was nice last year, I have my fingers crossed for all of us that it will be the same this year!

The thing about Central Florida is that we can have 80 degree weather one day (in Dec/Jan/Feb) and then 50 the next and then 40 the next. And return back to 80 again after that!! We very rarely have real cold weather for a week straight. That's why we all seem to get sick because I could be using my heater one night and then the a/c the next!! But January is GREAT for NO crowds and decent weather (I never wear mittens--don't even own them!!). Good luck everyone and hope the weather is great for you!

Yes we do because unfortunately we have to come back to the Washington, DC area after about 10 days. This will be our 5th year in a row going the last week of Jan. and we've gotten everything from the 80's to the high 40's.

We are right there with you, we too have to come back to the DC area after a week in Florida! :( This is our 2nd year going the last week in January and we loved it last year, I can't wait! Have a great trip, maybe we'll see you there :D

Thanks Kevsmom. We're in the final countdown waiting to do the single digit dance! I see you're from Woodbridge we live in Manassas. Have fun.
