MK closes at 7 for MVMCP, would you go?

Because I'm a type A planner, I like to know park hours, EMH, crowd levels, blah blah blah before I arrange park days.
We're going Dec 17-21. First day Epcot because they're open until 11:30 (flight lands at 9 and the ME travel time puts us in the park roughly 12:30ish), 2nd day MK is only open until 7 because of the party. Would you still go? Or would you wait until the next day (Dec 19-Saturday) when the park is open until midnight? I've gone to the party and don't really feel like shelling out another $300 to go this time.

Thoughts? Advice? Anything would be well appreciated!

DD9 DD6 if that helps

Our first MK day is an MVMCP day. We have a preopening ADR and will leave after they light the castle. It's still a full day and I think we'll have lots of time to get things done. From what I understand it's a great time to go, because lots of people stay away for that very reason.

We plan to hit another park at 7 if DD5 isn't too tired and cranky :) She's a night owl, so I hope we can!

The crowds will be much more manageable on friday. Crowds are huge on non-party days. Even with the shorter hours, you'll get more done on friday.

I always go to MK on party days, crowds are less IMO
We like that and don't typically stick around for the night time entertainment as my kids just can't stay up late.

Thanks y'all! I'm not seeing Wishes on the schedule until 9:30 that day (during the party). I'm sad about that

Also, I can't remember if you're allowed to buy anything in the park once the party has started ie. food, souveniers

Once the party has started you have to be gone. You can't buy food or souvenirs and in previous years they were checking wrist bands at the entrance to every shop. Unless you were already in the shop or restaurant before the party started you couldn't enter.

A party day is a great day for the Magic Kingdom, if you don't mind skipping the evening parade and fireworks. Crowds are lower than the non-party days big time, as so many want to see that evening stuff and not have to leave early, just as other posters have said. // If it were me, I'd love doing a rope drop day on a party day and head out by 4 p.m. around the time all the party people are getting there or arrange some fast passes for that 4-7 timeframe if you can. Do note, though, I'm one who isn't all that enthralled with parades and fireworks, making this day even more perfect for me (darn -- We have to leave lol) // I'm actually a nice mom who does go to these things if my kids want to.

Josh at easywdw just did a post about this and compared wait times on a party night versus a non party night... It basically says what has been said here -- you will get more done before 7 on a non party night than you would on a night the park is open later. Saturday is also usually one of the busiest days at MK. I like the suggestion someone made about leaving then watching wishes from the poly, etc. I think the Pirates cruise happens on party nights so you could also do that to watch wishes
