So, here's the dilemma. At first we planned to spend the morning of our checkout at the WL, so I booked WCC for breakfast. But then we booked air and likely won't need to meet ME until 2 pm. So I thought we might change the plan to a quick breakfast in the room and checkout, some MK time, followed by a decent lunch nearby or in MK. If it were your checkout day, where would you eat for lunch. It needs to be convenient to MK and WL. I think monorail resorts would be ok.

We really enjoy the Plaza - much overlooked in our opinion. We also enjoy the Poly atmosphere though, so Kona would be nice too.

Kona for lunch..never been there but the reviews are always good

maybe lunch at WCC, then you will be right at resort to catch the ME?

MK is not my fave place for restaurants, my second would be Kona(keep in mind the boat or monorail travel back to the WL dock when booking times)

We just had lunch on our check-out day 2 weeks ago at the Plaza Restaurant and it worked out very well. It was nice to be in the MK for the last couple of hours, and the food at the Plaza, while a limited menu, is VERY good, and the restaurant is in a nice, convenient location. Definitely make an ADR though, people were being turned away at the door without them!

P.S. Here's a link to the page on my web site, from that trip, including our lunch pics at the Plaza: http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/WaltDisneyWorld.htm Just look for "Restaurants from this trip" and click on it :)

P.P.S. The Kona Cafe is also an excellent choice for any meal, including lunch.

MMM. Your pictures are making me hungry.

Thanks all. Unless someone makes a good argument for a GF restaurant, I think we'll go with Kona since we have the other 2 covered elsewhere in the trip.

SeaSpray - How long did you allow for travel from the Poly to WL. And which route did you take?

There's two options, someone can correct me on this but the boat from WL to Contemporary then get on the monorail to Poly. That may be the quickest or take a boat to MK then take the boat to Poly.

If your staying in the MK, take a look at the menu at Liberty Tree Tavern. We just loved our lunch there. The salmon dish was wonderful.

How about monorail from Poly to either MK or to Contemporary and then the boat directly to the WL?

Although the MK bus to WL is supposed to be faster than the boat. If you are in a hurry, maybe monorail to MK and bus to WL?

From the Poly to the WL, I would allow 30/35 minutes. Your option is to take the Poly launch or Resort Monorail back to the MK. Then the WL boat or the WL bus back to the WL.

I hope this helps, we have stayed at the WLV before, and have eaten at Kona and Ohana's, if I remember it was about 30 minutes.(give or take a few)

Same suggestions here too.....Kona or Plaza as a back-up plan.

So sad we are talking about checkout day.:sad1:

Have a magical trip!:wizard:

Thanks for all the tips on travel time. We made a Kona ADR for noon, and I expect to meet Magical Express around 2 pm.

I think we'll stick with Kona, but I'll keep LTT in mind, too.
