MK After Fireworks

I would like to attempt to get some 'empty' park type shots. I realise I have to be 'slow' leaving the parks when closing. I have a position in mind to capture the MK Fireworks which will involve me being between the castle and the entrance.

So my question is, assuming I can stake out a decent position, once the fireworks have finished in MK will I be stopped in walking towards the back of the park (Somewhere close to the fantasyland construction).

Will CMs be posted at pinch points to ensure traffic is moving out towards the exit or if I move swiftly enough (against the tide of those leaving) could I feasibly get the rear of the park.

Ultimately, if you think this is not possible, would you sacrifice a spot for the fireworks to get those 'empty' shots?

And last question - If I am behind the castle for the fireworks, which way should I look? Having watched the fireworks many many times from the Poly, I assume I still need to look back, rather than at the castle.

In my own experience, when I was there in April, I had no problems lingering around the parks after they "closed". I spent one night at HS and one at MK until around 1:30-1:45 when they closed at 1am. I actually went to MK after Wishes just to capture empty park shots. One shot that interested me was to capture the TTA in motion when it was empty. Dumbo was also on the top of my list. I say shoot Wishes and then make your way to the back. I assure you that you probably won't be the last one leaving. I even had CM's talk to me while I was setting up my tripod for a shot of the castle. Just keep in mind that if you want to shoot Dumbo or the TTA in motion, make sure you do it while the ride is still open.

Alot of people shoot TTA from the ride itself. You can get really nice crisp shots of the cars, but a nice motion blur on everything else.

If you dont ask the answer is always "no".

Not sure, but as long as the tram is moving I would make an attempt to get on. I would also recommend trying to ride during Wishes or Magic, Memories and you show, as most people would be at the castle.

It's not that uncommon for Wishes to go off prior to park closing. Crowds usually begin to thin significantly afterward. If it is an Extra Magic Hours night, you can stay and shoot for at least three hours-plus, as Wishes always runs prior to the start of EMH. And in my experience, you can do that even if you aren't staying on property. Just don't try to ride anything in that case. Of course, on EMH nights the park doesn't clear out as quickly, but that last hour or so should provide some opportunities.

If you are watching fireworks behind the castle, they will be al around you. I's pretty cool, but hard to photograph well. Maybe when the Fantasyland Expansion opens it will provide the chance to back up more and get more perspective.

This past weekend, we were worried about being "pushed" toward the exit. It was after the Kiss and we were still lingering. A manager type person came up, I turned to him and said do we need to be heading out? He looked at me like I was crazy and said to have fun.

Most nights, you'll find that they will give you plenty of time after the official closing.
