Would you say that you need 2 days at MK and the rest of the parks are just fine with one? Epcot barely has rides, but the countries are awesome to stroll through. So I would think you would only need one day for that. There will be new rides at HS and with the addition of Pandora at AK, still one day?

There is so much to do at MK that it is almost essential to do 2 days there - that at least gives you 6 FP that you can select. The other parks you could do in one day it just depends on whether or not you can put in a full day open to close. With TS land opening at HS you will likely have to decide which tier 1 FP you want to get -so choosing between getting a FP for RnR, TSMM or slinky or planning on waiting in line.

How many days you plan in a park depends on your traveling party. Our next trip will be 3 generations but most of us love all the rides -- we are doing 2 1/2 days at MK, 2 days Epcot, 1 AK, 1/2 HS. We are also going to have our 4 yo DD in tow so we are trying to split the parks up into sections. Our first MK day will be Frontier and Adventure land, Next Fantasyland and Tomorrow land (these days will be open until 2ish) and then one evening to catch what we didn't the first couple of days. Epcot will be future world (with a couple countries) and then the next day will be world showcase. HS will be arrive at noon until close, because right now without TS land it can be a partial day park, unless you want to hit all the shows.

The best way to figure it out is to see what your families interests are -- this might dictaten how much time you spend where.

It is all subjective, for us, MK is only a half day park. It always has been even when my son was young. We always have park hoppers so we don't ever spend all of one day at any park but we visit all of them, even MK at least twice in every trip.

All 3 trips for us have been 5 day park tickets. MK 2 days and 1 day at every other park. Our trip in April 2017 HS is only a half day. We're not going to rope drop unlike every other park.

That's what I'd recommend. You may not spend the entire day at Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom but you'll need to allot a day for the FastPasses.

It really depends on the likes/dislikes of your travel party, among other factors.... Kids or adults? What type of rides do you like? Are you first timers, one timers, or veterans?

I can do AK and HS half day. I have hoppers, so morning at one of those and afternoon/evening at Epcot/MK. I'm also all about rides, but feel like I need 2 for Epcot as well as 2 for MK

We are a family of 6, 2 adults & 4 kids. The kids will be 12,9,7 & 5 at time of travel. We love the big rides, but I know my 5 yr Old will be limited. Our trip in September will not be our first time, but it will be 4 years since we have been last.

I can devote a full day to AK, especially with the nighttime stuff. Epcot isn't a full day park for me unless we drink around the world, however I usually hop back over there for Illuminations which is one of my favorite things to do in all of WDW.

HS is a rope drop and bail park for us (until June at least)

Hi!

In a week, we do 3 MK days, 1 AK, 1 HS, 1 Epcot, and 1 water park day. My kids are 7 and 10.

So, our week may look like:
MK (rope drop), AK (rope drop), MK (rope drop), Epcot(rope drop), MK (rope drop with resort break late afternoon, then back for late night), HS (start after lunch, end late), Water Park

I think you can do 2 MK and 1 everywhere else and have a good vacation, but I do think it's the bare minimum. You won't see absolutely everything, but you can certainly target your must do's and highlights in each park. We spend 10 days in the park, have a leisurely pace and still leave not doing everything.

Thanks for all of your responses. It’s always fun to see how everyone plans their trips!

We never do more than 1 day at Epcot, HS, or AK. MK has so much more to do and the other parks are pretty easy to do in 1 day.

Yes I think MK deserves more time than any of the other parks. Having said that, there is so much to do at Disney World that I recommend spending as much time as possible there. To me, what you are suggesting is great for just the bare MINIMUM.

Dan

How many days do you have? The one time we only did 5 days, we did 2 at Epcot and 1 at the rest. MK isn't our favorite park (kids included) and never has been. They prefer Epcot and HS with MK third. It all depends on what you like and how much time you have.

As others have said, it really depends on your interests. For us, one day isn't enough in Animal Kingdom. The park is really big, especially with the addition of Pandora. One of my kids really likes rides, while the other prefers to take time to take in everything there is to see, animals, plant life, the Tree of Life, live music, theming. Then there's Lion King and Nemo.

We are going for 8 days this trip but its following the basic plan we usually use via TPs. According to them and the schedule we have to basically see EVERYTHING once, we are doing MK twice, EP one day for rides and the another day for World Showcase. We are doing AK for another full day and then hopping back for the evening hour(s) after our Disney Springs day. and then one day for HS. Everyone says HS is a half day park right now but we are going to see and do everything there and only have about an hour of downtime available in that days schedule so if you plan to miss nothing, you'll be hard pressed to do that in less than a day.

We will be there for 5 full days, 6 nights. This will be over my kids fall break, so that is all the time we have. I’m trying to maximum our time while there! It has been 4 years since we have been, and the kids are a little older, so their interests have changed.

How tall is your 5 year old? He/she will probably be able to do just about everything.
With kids that age I personally would plan one day at each park, then leave the last day open to see which park was their favorite and go back there.

She will be just turning 5 in May and I need to measure her again. That’s probably what we will do with the parks, and then see what their favorite is.
