Mizner's -- New Hours

Good to know. Thought I heard/saw someone say that was happening.

Thanks for sharing.

That's great! Now, if only Territory Lounge would open before dinner..

And how! I was there two nights in a row last weekend. I suspect it hasn't happened because, unlike the monorail resorts, it doesn't get the traffic.

I don't understand why the resort lounges aren't open sooner. Disney has to see that they are leaving money on the table by not opening them sooner. I expect this to change at all of the deluxe resorts given their locations.

My husband and I were just saying this! Went on a Christmas decoration monorail hotel tour in the afternoon. Had a tropical drink at a pool bar

Then they should make the bars self-serve in the afternoons!! :scratchin :drinking1

I am ashamed to say that I have most definitely used my debit card in a beer vending machine that solves this very sticky situation. It was at a place that you had to be 21 to enter though. Make no mistake, it was utilized to trim salary though.

Strictly economics . . . how many customers and how much revenue versus cost of manpower.

I don't pretend to know what the going barkeep rate is but the price they charge for a cold beer compared to where I am from tells me that they wouldn't have to sell but a few drinks an hour to pay for that.... I know I paid for Stan from Boston's whole salary for a month on what I drank at the POFQ pool bar one year. With twin boys, I had to do laundry everyday and the bar was my keeper. Thank goodness that was before the bands and I paid cash to keep my wife from seeing how much I spent there. Too old and happy to divorce but she still might get rid of me today if she found out how much green that "dirty laundry" cost me! pirate:

Oh, and Hooray for more hours for Mizner's. Too stuffy for me, but I have utilized it on occasion.

. . . Yes, but sometimes one feels like being pampered
. . . plus, few inside bars have the view that Mizner's offers

. . . to you and me, it sounds correct
. . . but, every location at WDW needs to maintain a specific profit margin
. . . opening earlier could require an additional person, and benefits
. . . just because it appears to cover costs, does it make the required margin?
. . . remember, WDW is all about the numbers (oh, and the profit)

Whether it was The Wave or Outer Rim at the Contemporary or Tambu at the Polynesian, WDW has always kept at least two lounges going during the slowest time of the day. I understand convention traffic would demand a bar open at the former, but like I said it baffled me that the so-called flagship resort offered nothing.

Great point! I should be thankful for mid-afternoon Lapu Lapus. It's a great way to spend a nice break. :)
