Mixology Seminar?

Hi everyone,

I am headed to Disney for the Food and Wine Festival in early October. Although I have been to WDW fairly regularly, I've never had the chance to go for the F&W so I've been looking into what it has to offer. I'm pretty excited to have a completely new experience at Disney, but one thing has me particularly intrigued. I noticed they offer mixology seminars daily, and they are seemingly cheap. Has anyone taken part in one in the past? Reservations for them open up in a couple weeks, so I want to figure out if it would be worth it for me to take that time out of my day in EPCOT.

Any opinion would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :)

Actually I went to one last year and it was great. they have one of their bartenders/mixologists do the seminar and they talk about the drinks that they make and then...the best part....you get to try each drink!! they do 3-5 drinks and they even give you the recipes to make them. afterwards there's time to ask questons about the spirits used and any other thing you would like to know about mixology. now that I've gone to one I want to try others, each person has their own drinks they do so it would be nice to see what they do.
they do the same thing with the meals as well. if you sign up for one of the demonstrations for a single dish they give you the spirit pairing for it. if it's the 4 course meal which is a little more expensive, I think they do the same thing. at any rate you want to sign up for any of the demos early because they have limited seating. if you have a Tables in Wonderland card you also get a discount off of your demonstration ticket. to me, it was one of the coolest things I did at F&W!
hope this helps, I really had an awesome time and I did it alone too!

Thanks! You definitely sound like you enjoyed yourself when you went. I'm definitely leaning towards doing it. I hope they release the schedule soon so I know what drinks they will be making when I'm down there. I'm hoping I can get someone else to do it with me, but I guess it wouldn't be too bad doing it alone either! :)

also, most of the people that are doing the demonstrations are employed by Disney so you also have the opportunity to go to their restaurant/bar and see other drinks they make right on property.
good luck choosing and have fun!

Thanks, Diva. That is a great thing to keep in mind! I'll have to show my brother to try to convince him that it would be worth it just to know of new places to go and drinks to try!
