What happens when you have the weekday rooms booked through Member Services using points and the weekend rooms booked through Central Reservations using cash (AP discount)? You have two reservations so you'll actually check out of one and check in to the other in the middle of your trip. Do you get to keep the same room or is it possible that they'll make you move?

Thanks, John

Chances are you will not have to move but they will not guarantee it. I ran into this situation in May, I had the 25% member discount for Fri & Sat and then points Sun-Thurs nights. They guaranteed I would not have to move or check out/check in since it was all through MS. Then an AP rate came out about $20 less per night for the 2 nights ($270 vs $288 plus tax). I called MS and they said they could not link the AP reservation, we would have to check-out/in and no guarantee of not having to move. So I just left the MS 25% off so I wouldn't be taking a chance to save $40. It did work out smooth, we got keys & car pass for the entire week at check-in. If it would have been a bigger $ difference I would have taken the chance.

I take 4-5 trips a year, and always book my weekends on cash, and have never had to change rooms. In July I spent two weeks at BWV with all the weekends on cash, and the front desk did all the work. On Friday morning I had a bill and two new keys slipped under my door, with maid service and turndown service for Friday and Saturday, then another bill and more keys were under my door on Sunday when I went back to points. Everything was linked, I called both DVC and CRO to be sure, and even my credit card for room charging was carried over. This is a great way to do things--two days on cash to get all the perks, then back to points when maid service gets old and annoying.:p It couldn't be easier.
