I'm not sure either. Morally, I'd feel I have to go back, but that would mean a trek and then, because of the way stores around here are, they'd probably accuse me of stealing them in the first place.

Also will the clerk get in more trouble for not ringing them up if you bring them back ? I usually do the honest thing even if it isn't in my favor but I am one of those people who feels guilty about EVERYTHING

PJ....I don't know what I would do about the shoes. Thats a tough one. On one hand I would feel it was their mistake so why should I have to go back down there and on the other hand would I feel guilty about keeping them Good luck with this one.

See, none of that is my problem with this. It wouldn't really be the end of the world for me to have to go back there. It's practically within walking distance from campus and I'm in the area all the time. I am a firm believer in karma. I'm afraid if I don't go pay for the other shoes something awful is going to happen to me!

That's me too. Any chance you were raised Catholic? I do like the thought of free shoes, but I also would feel bad and think about it when I wore them.

No to the Catholic , I was raised by very strict family . Its good to have a conscience but I think mine is overactive. I also have to agree with the karma thing.

Or maybe they'll say thanks but not make me pay for them. Wishful thinking. You're right though, I should just go pay for them and be done with it.

I was just on the phone with my sister and she was like free shoes, why on earth would you go pay for them! She told me the answer to my karma dilemma was to give them to her. She said that way I am passing the nice act on.
