Okay, I skimmed, I admit.

Thanks for the survey. Even though I didn't answer it I wrote down a lot of the questions and they are going to be used as journal prompts for the kiddos! :teacher:

Blue...no offense, but you make a scary Tinkerbell.

Liz...sorry you've been having a rough time.

I've been very grumpy the past couple days. This really isn't my favorite time of the year, especially the beginning of December, which is rapidly approaching.
Then tonight I got a text in class from my baby sister that my mom put my cat to sleep on Monday. He had a stroke. He was only 7. And just when was someone going to tell me about this????? First of all, I would have appreciated a phone call rather than a text, second of all I would have appreciated knowing on MONDAY when it happened. Third of all I wanted to bury the cat and my mom just left it at the vet to "dispose of it." :sad2: So then I was crying in class and had to leave the room which is always embarassing and it really just wasn't a good night.

But I'm not complaining. Nope, not me. All smiles all the time. :)

I feel like I need to say something uplifting now. How about it's almost Friday!!! (sort of)

Aww, PJ! I'm so sorry about your cat. :grouphug:

Thanks, Michele. I know this sounds weird but I almost wish he would have been sick because then I would have known he was going to die. This way it's just kind of hard to believe he's gone. I loved that cat! He was really cute. Grey with white paws and he only had one eye so he was a pirate cat. pirate:

How have you been?

I know what you mean. 4 yrs ago this January, when I was pg with Madeline, one of my cats died suddenly. You aren't expecting it, and it is much harder to deal with. I bet he was so cute. Do you have a pic to share? What was his name?

I have been busy!

I was actually just looking for a picture of him to post but I don't think I have one on my computer. His name was Bill. Yes, Bill the cat. It's a long story. All of our other pets have normal names, I promise!

This time of the year always seems so busy, doesn't it?

I would love to see.

It is a very busy time. Lots of stuff going on at school, and with Madeline in preschool now, I feel like I am constantly running here and there.

Isn't the idea that once your kids are all in school you have more free time instead of less? :rotfl:

You would think so, right? Well Madeline only goes for 2 hours twice a week. By the time I drop her off, if I go shopping or something like that, I'm rushing back to pick her up. Then there are Wed. when the 2 older ones have religious ed. on the other side of town. Same thing -- an hour and a half. Drop them off....turn around and pick them up again.

That does sound very tiring!
What are y'all doing for Thanksgiving?

We go to this fancy schmancy restaurant with my parents, grandma, sister, BIL and niece. They have a wonderful buffet. I can't wait! :yay: How about you?

Wow!! Nice!!
I am going to Florida on Wednesday. My parents have a condo down there and the whole family goes down for Thanksgiving every year. There's really not room for everyone who goes, but it's a lot of fun. We stay up really late playing cards and walking on the beach then everyone just kind of grabs a pillow and a blanket and finds a place to crash. And of course there will be lots of eating!
I'm headed to bed now. It was nice talking to you, Michele. Night.

That sounds just WONDERFUL!

Good night, PJ. I hope you sleep well. I know you had a rough day.

Peej
So sorry to hear about Bill the One Eyed Kitty!
Yes, it would have been nice to get a phone call. :grouphug:
It is upsetting when anyone or pet dies so quickly. It is a comfort to know the person/pet did not have to linger suffering.
I thinks it's cool your idea for using some of Dawn's questions for yr students!
I'll bet everyone learns a lot & has a great time.
Tee hee you will also help stoke them into holiday madness! :rotfl2:

Michele, it sounds like you will have a great Thanksgiving--no cooking!:cheer2:
It also sounds as if you are really in the 'taxi Mom' years! :rotfl:

Hey, where the heck is our Cheryl? Too tired to DIS?

Hi Rella! How you doin'?

a Gherkin salute

Thanks, Jean. We learn a lot, goof off a lot, have a lot of fun.....we do a lot of everything! :rotfl:
Oh, and I have it on good authority that Cheryl is, in fact, still alive. Just working way too much.

Have a great Thursday, everyone.
:grouphug:

PJ - I'm sorry about Bill

Am I the only one, though, that hopes that someday we'll wake up and find that Tara died? For us, it's more agonizing to watch them get sick and have to make the decision to have them put down. We feel like if they die on their own, at least they went peacefully.

Ugh, I can't talk about this today...

Guess I got to work just in time. It's pouring out there.

Jean - what's up with all that beef?

PJ ~ Sorry about the loss of your cat. That is especially hard the way you found out.

I remember when my cat Dooley died my dad called me at work to tell me. I broke down crying. I worked in a hospital and a resident asked me what was wrong. I told him my cat had just died and the resident thought I said my dad and he was very consoling until I corrected him that it was my cat. Then he just said, oh sorry and walked away. Sometimes people don't realize how much a pet really does mean to some people.

Morning, Sweet Briny Heiney! (Is that getting old yet?)

I see you're quite in the Christmas spirit. I'm more of a Scrooge myself. In fact, I have a Christmas pillow that says Bah Humbug on it.

And Chiquita Nikita...wow, almost everyone's here!

Hey Liz :) How you doing? I know it's been forever. I am home today cause I don't feel very good so I had some time and thought I would drop in and say HI and bother pickles ;) she loves it though.

I see Michele has been posting here.. Get your butt over to the Orlando thread every once in awhile we miss you !

Liz...scrooge huh? I am a fan of the Grinch myself.
