Hola, senor. Como estas? Why are we speaking Spanish?

Sounds like you had a nice 4th. Hope the cleaning's not too bad. I'm STILL unpacking. Just when I thought no one had more clothes than my sister I came across the shoe bag. :scared1:

:guilty:

Your mom is annoying ME now. :lmao:

Cleaning=:sad2:

In a not so interesting story of irony the only reason I don't keep my social security card in my wallet which is what I used to do is because people on this thread told me you're not supposed to carry it with you. So, I took it out. Gosh guys, I knew I should have kept it in my wallet! I blame all of you. ;)
From the Social Security website: Protect your SSN card and number from loss and identity theft. DO NOT carry the card with you. Keep it in a secure location and only take it with you when you must show the card, e.g. to obtain a new job, open a new bank account, or to obtain benefits from certain U.S. agencies. DO NOT allow others to use your Social Security number as their own.

So, still best NOT to carry your original SS card on you but, yeah, when you want to be hired by a legitimate company, it's a good thing to take with you. Something about them wanting to make sure you're not an illegal immigrant and also wanting it for income tax purposes and social security withholding and such.

Well yes, but I did get the tracking number. It was in her purse all along. She just didn't want to go look for it if you ask me. Anyway, I went on the UPS website and this is what it says:

Your item arrived at 9:48 AM on July 5, 2007 in WINDERMERE, FL 34786.

So does this mean it arrived in Windermere and still has to make it to my house or does it mean it's supposedly at my house? Because it sure as heck isn't anywhere on the porch or in the mailbox.

That means it's there at Windermere airport / UPS distribution center / Pony Express station. Usually UPS will update once it's loaded on the truck (something like "loaded"), and then update again once it's on its way to your crib (something like "en route").

Bueno. Vamos a hablar en espanol toda dia.

But, if you'll recall, everything's your fault. Therefore this is your fault because you should have told me to bring it when I announced I was coming down here to work. Gosh ROB!

Gracias. Espero que llega en mi casa pronto porque estoy nervous! (I don't know how to say nervous).

There usually will also be a scheduled arrival date listed as well as a comment about whether or not it's on time. My guess is the arrival date will be 7/6.

This is correct Ms. PJ.

No, no, no. Я предпочитаю русского, пожалуйста. (let's see if this works right. "I prefer Russian myself" if it doesn't.)

"Nervioso". Gracias.

Well, who knew that a 21-year old didn't know the hiring procedures for a job? I had 5 different jobs by the time I was 21, and that seemed lower than average to me given the experience of most of my friends (some of whom would have 5 jobs in a little over a year). It's us old people that have been working at the same place for 18 years that wouldn't remember what all you need.

I agree on the estimated arrival date. But I didn't want to be the first to say it and incur the wrath of Peej. I don't feel like getting Beeeotch-slapped when me & mine show up at Chef Mickey's in a few weeks.

Not to mention UPS is notorious for changing their scheduled delivery date. They can never seem to get it there on time. At least in my experiences.

Well, without knowing where she lives for sure, it's difficult to know for sure. My concern is if it isn't delivered on Friday, some of those firms don't have weekend deliveries. Surely if Windermere is close to her (or where she lives), they will get it out tomorrow though.

18 years! Whoa!

Longest time I've ever worked in one place was 6 years, 3 months. Architects tend to move around every couple of years though, lots of churning in the industry. At the end of August, our firm will be established for 3 years. I plan on leaving here in a pine box. I'm 37 now, so I hope that's many, many, many years in the future.

Well I see none of this. I just PMed you the tracking number, you go figure it out.

Wow. I was kind of hoping we could just stick to Spanish.

Only job I've ever had is teaching ballet and that was all on the down low because for some reason if she didn't say she was paying me she had to pay less taxes or something? I don't know, there was some reason. Well then there was my nurses aide gig but I guess I forgot I had needed it.

:lmao: I am a perfectly calm and rational person. What makes you think I would beotch slap you? As long as it gets here by tomorrow I'm fine.

See, that's the problem in this whole scenario. I have no experiences.

Well I do live in Windermere and that zip code was my zip code. That's what made me think it was at my house. Maybe I'll go look on the porch for the 12th time. The neighbors probably think I've lost it.

Is that Russian?

-- Rob

Yep. I lasted a grand total of about three weeks in Russian 101 at UT. I tried to take it Fall semester of my 4th year. At UT that's the roughest year of Architorture, in my opinion. I couldn't swing it with design labs, architectural history, and integration courses (where you really learn how to "integrate" mechanical and electrical systems into a building). I did stay in it long enough to learn the alphabet, learn some simple phrases and about 200-300 vocabulary words, and start on sentence structure.

But like I said before, Babel Fish is awesome!

PJ, you can just call UPS. Go to their web-site and get their number. This is what I suggest at this point.

You can be pushy and actully have them call the driver if it is on the truck. But I would wait on that tactic.

Seeing some of the abuse you heap upon poor, innocent Roberto, I'm not so sure... (J/K)
