Mixed drinks and Beer suggestions around the world?

You must be a tequila veteran/connoisseur. One avocado margarita for me mid afternoon & I was ready to wave my VISA around the Mexican marketplace. Northern girl here. Rye, scotch & whisky, I can handle. Tequila is a different animal. I'm used to the buy 1 get 1 free margaritas where the tequila is just a whisper. Not so the La Cava drinks. Generous tequila pours. Very generous. Wobbles for me if I indulge in more than one. Kudos to you! :-)

Haha! I'm a bourbon/whiskey fanatic and an occasional rummy/tequila enthusiast :D
Not the biggest beer fan though, it's really odd. 3 or 4 beers at my size should be no issue, but I'm like really, really feeling it. But 7 or 8 shots of tequila and I've got a very nice buzz. It makes virtually no sense to me :(

Heidijanesmith-go to Hy-Vee and ask. They first got it for me in Burlington and now sell it in Ft Madison and Mt Pleasant. Also found out the local distributor Golden Eagle (Budweiser, etc) is now the delivery unit for the stores. Maybe the prices will go down haha!!

Best American bourbon IMO is Makers Mark. I've also developed a taste for less $ Dickel. Love Appleton Estate Reserve Jamaican Rum. Problem with the beer could be the carbonization. Like champagne but lower scale. Bubbles seem to rush the alcohol into the blood. With tequila based margaritas, maybe your body metabolizes sugar + alcohol better than most? Not so with me. With our poor CDN $ and high taxes at our Ontario LCBO (state controlled liquor sales), Irish Whisky is the best buy for us in Canada. Black Bush (Northern Ireland Distillery) has some sherry cask flavour but lower price point compared to Scottish single malts. Looking forward to picking up some Tallisker or Laphroig at Duty Free when I cross the border en route to my WDW vacation.

Never had the grapefruit beer, but have heard lots of good things about it. The slushy thing at the France kiosk is really, really good--and I'm a guy that doesn't go for sweet drinks. I usually stick with beers and vodka. :earsboy:

We just got back Friday & have to totally agree, the Slushy Martini from France was a wonderful surprise (also not big on sweet drinks) & very tasty. Cheers :drinking:

image.png My husband discovered the Radler beer while someone featured it on tap near us. While traveling I found it at most BEVMO stores. Back home our local Safeway carries a similar beer that he loves!

There are a bunch of Drinking Around The World passports floating around these sites. I had one a while ago that listed the drinks in different countries and you just checked off which one you tried. I can't seem to find that one. But this one is great for the beer drinkers:

And here is a good general Drinking passport:

To the person in Iowa that wanted GF beer. Leiney's has one at most stores in Illinois. I assume Lienenkugel's (spelling?) is available in Iowa too.

Oh Schofferhofer Grapefruit is pretty common around me... Is that the brand that they serve?

I love craft beers of all sorts. My favorites are Belgium Wits and German Hefe-Weizens. I found the Schofferhofer Grapefruit too sweet. I had bought a 6 pack and the 5 sat in the fridge for a year before I dumped them.

I love Grapefruit juice because it is not as sweet as OJ. So it surprised me when this was sweeter than regular grapefruit juice.

I have little interest in fruit flavored beer, I've just heard a lot about the grapefruit one. Looking at the site I see it's 2.5 %ABV? I'm out. Seems like a better idea to have a shot of grapefruit infused vodka (which is pretty tasty), and chase it with a quality beer. :)

Ahhhh see THAT's how I pick my wine. My DH isn't much of a drinker so it's basically a slightly spiked pop. Now give me a good 13.5% Pinot Grigio or 14% Chardonnay..... Mama be super chill. To me it's just being frugal I swear!

I loved the Cantaloopy at Joy of Tea in China. It's vodka mixed with canteloupe juice and it was so much better than I expected it to be. I tried to recreate it once I got home from our last trip and it just wasn't the same. Can't wait to get another one :)

Tipsy duck in love at the joy of tea was amazing. I didn't drink anything else, but read about it, tried it, and loved it. Next time I'll try more drinks around the world, but for the only drink i had there it was amazing.

No one in my family likes beer so I have no beer knowledge, but I do know a bit about other drinks. I absolutely love the booth across from Chefs Du France in, of course, France. They have a frozen lemon and a frozen orange drink made with Grey Goose vodka. Both drinks are amazing. I also tried a new drink at Teppan Edo called a Tokyo Sunrise and I can assure you that it was fantastic!!!!

Anybody have anything new/not listed to add to the list? Got a lot of great ideas from this list for our Nov 15 trip. Was so much fun trying out new drinks!
