Miter corners

Long time ago I saw a technique on how to do this with when making frames in scrapbooking. Now that I need to do this, I can not remember how. Can any one help

I usually just 'freehand them '
but I am sure if you go to www.diy.net (I think that is the addy) I am sure they have it there

I think it is as simple as line up your corners and snip- then remove the excess...
