I wanted to share this with you. We were at the parade today and a little girl had a misting bottle with her unlike any I have seen. We have the fan ones and they get caught in my DD's long hair sometimes even when it is up. We tried the cool rags with the "gel" inside and after 3 days had rashes. This bottle straps around your waist and has a misting tube you can turn on and off. It is really cool and you can put ice and such in it. They are not cheap but, older DD overheats and faints so, I thought it would be worth it. It looks like a water bottle with a little pump and takes up little space. It is really cool. They are at Mistymate.com. I get nothing for sharing but, thought it was cool. It took me a while to find them on the internet but, I did so that is why I shared the site. Just wanted to share ways to stay cool. If anyone has any others, PLEASE let me know. I am always open for ideas....thanks!!!!! It is an awesome misting bottle. I ordered one and will let you know if it is worth it after our August trip. Stay cool :cool1: :cold:

We've had a MistyMate for years (I think we bought a set of 2 off of QVC actually) and they are great! As a matter of fact, we're going to WDW in Aug and I'd better throw them in the suitcase.

They sell the pump MistyMates at our Wal-Mart in 2 different sizes... a smaller one that can clip on a belt and another one that has a strap and you wear it. We kept going back and forth about those or the fan kind (bought that fan ones), but someday I will get the pump kind and try them.

We got those for $11 at Walmart. Got one of the bigger size misty mates, for each umbrella stroller and we can strap it around the base and clip the hose onto the canopy to mist us and the kids as we are walking. Thats the theory anyways. I'll post how it actually works out when we get home. :teeth:

I bought one a year ago at BJ's. Haven't used it yet. Nice to hear good reviews.

I just wanted to say thanks for posting that these are available at Wal-Mart. I just saw a friend using one and was amazed at how well it worked - it made me feel so much cooler! I was planning to order one on-line.

I'm going shopping for one tomorrow!! Thanks :wave2: :disrocks:

I just wanted to add, a misting fan is a must with the heat we've been having. DD and I were at AK today where it was unofficially 98 degrees and saw a person faint in line for It's Tough to Be a Bug. The Disney ones were almost $16 a piece. We bought one at Publix for $8.

I searched Walmart for another one today and Target, too. No luck. They didn't have any. Wisconsin I guess is not the spot for selling them...... :cool1:

We too love the MistyMates. We've had them for years and they are much easier to carry than the fan misters, due to the strap you can use like a fanny pack.

They were in the same place as the Brita water bottles everyone talks about. I was actually looking for those and stumbled across the misty mates. That was the water filtration/plumbing area I guess you would call it. Now that its summer I've also seen them down the aisles with summer stuff and pool supplies.

I went to Walmart last night and the misty fan bottles were in the seasonal section near the barbecue grills etc. They had tons of them in a bin and were $5 each. There were also the handheld portable fans for $1 each.

Target's seasonal section has the handheld portable fans with swirly lights that look real cool at night. These were $2.99 originally but marked 50% off.

Remember, I am looking for the Misty Mate style and not the fans at all. Are you sure the misting mates were at Walmart? That is what was by the Brita water stuff? The fans get stuck in my DD hair. I know they are foam but, they still hurt. Thanks for letting me know. :cool1:

I filled mine with ice
and tha way it was cold

however all voer the parks were lost batteries
the compartment kept opening

but they were a life saver

TattoedGoofy- Yes, they were Misty mates NOT the fans. We wanted something that took no batteries so the fans were out for us too. They had 2 different sizes in that section. A small one with a belt clip that was out by itself (no package) and the one we got which was a large one with a waist belt. This one comes in a clear plastic package. Both came in multiple colors. The misty mate logo is not that big at all but it is on there. It was definitely at WalMart. Ours is a Super WalMart... not sure if that makes a difference.
