All right everyone... I really need your help. For you who have used Misty could you post some of your pics, so I can really get a great idea about her and Disney Weddings... I've really had trouble finding a photographer. Randy and the Roots are both booked and I can't stand the thought of waiting around for my proofs to get back from DPS to see if I lucked out and got great pics.

A few questions... has anyone done her intimate bride package? Does she have anyone with her (an assistant)? Is she cool? <--- that's important to me. I don't know what any of the lingo means, but she is photojournalistic, right? What does that mean? What does her DVD with all the pics and rights mean? Were you happy you went with her?

I'll leave the reviews to her clients, but I can tell you that everyone I've read about who used her thought she was cool!

"Photojournalistic" means pictures that are not posed-looking - like they captured you in the middle of doing something and you didn't know the camera was there. That is not to say that these shots aren't posed - sometimes they are, but the overall effect makes it look natural, not like somebody stood there and told everyone where to stand and to look right at the camera, etc.

A DVD with all pictures and rights means you get a disc with digital copies of all your pictures and the right to print them however and wherever you want. You don't have to call Misty up every time you want an 8x10, in other words. You can do it at Walgreen's or at Mpix or wherever.

I was hoping you would post! I was about to PM you some questions about the disc because I know that's how you dealt with the Roots. I'm still planning on PM'ing you so stick around! I have a few questions...

I am going to have Misty for my wedding. I spoke with her on the phone several times and its like talking to a friend. She is wonderful! Her husband is her assistant. Basically he does the guys in the morning and gets additional shots while she is shooting the bigger things like you!

If she is available I'm booking her intimate package and it's $747, which is totally reasonable... I've seen her pics on line and they are fabulous! Love them. I was just hoping for the girls on here who have used her if I could see their pics, so I can relate a bit more... silly I know.

I'm glad to hear she's great... I'm just nervous about meeting people for the first time and then having them shoot my wedding... I'm a people person, but this makes me anxious. I said the same thing to LYnn about Rev. Herring, luckliy she said everything went perfectly and he was great!

I used Misty almost 3 weeks ago and I am waiting for her pics, my gallery is scheduled to be up any day now!

I promise I will post the link as soon as I get it.

She was BEYOND COOL! Depending on how my pictures turn out, I may have to start a Misty Fan Club! And I gave her a great review in my TR-Page 1.

I loved her and all of my 38 guests loved her! Her husband was working with her at my wedding, but I don't know if he is always with her. He was cool too!

Yep, She only posts two months at a time, but the minute you know for sure that you want her, you should call her, give her a deposit and have her pencil you in.

Misty is booked, just got word from her tonight... so that means all three favorite photographers can't shoot my wedding (Randy, the roots, and Misty). I feel like crap and I'm about to cry... so any suggestions at this point would be great, cause I'm about to lose it. Lurkylook sent me some great names of some more people, and I saw one that might work, so it's my last resort, before I give up and go wiith DPS...

She is a lovely person and a lot of fun, when she came to our room and we first met her she started moving furniture and lying on the floor to get the perfect shot! it was really funny

As an honest review:

I loved my photos. They were exactly what I wanted: creative, artistic, but not staged in any way. She captured every moment. And the post processing was brilliant, enhancing the images in a way that isn't contrived but brings out their beauty. I got all my photos quickly on high resolution DVD and a large proof album.

The down side is that Karla wasn't very good at communication. She didn't always return e-mails and for the week leading up to my wedding I couldn't get a hold of her at all. Neither could my wedding planner. We actually thought she might not show up and Maxine (wedding planner) brought in a Disney photographer just in case the day of my wedding. Karla did show up as I was getting ready, breezing in as though nothing was wrong.

She was lovely to work with, always there but never intrusive. She put everyone at ease and let us be ourselves. She didn't insist on posing us, just let us get together and snapped away. We had her back for the dessert party, which again she was late for, by about 15 minutes. However, once more, she caught every moment perfectly.

Re-reading my contract I found I should have gotten an engagement shoot, which I never had, nor was any compensation offered when I asked her about it. My concerns were just sort of brushed off.

So there were some things that were really not great about Karla. In the end, though, I LOVE my pictures. She is one of the best photographers I have ever encountered. Her skill is unmatched by just about anyone else - and that's coming from two photographers. The pictures I got were worth the hassles and more than worth the money I paid for them. But I know other brides have put up with even worse customer service, so I have trouble actually recommending her.
