Hi,

Can anyone tell me the cost of mister fans in Disneyworld?

I've been looking around for them in stores to take down w/ us but I can't find any w/ a strap. And the ones w/o a strap I've seen in CVS or Walgreens for $9.99.

Thanks!

They cost $20 in Disney..... You can get them at Walmart with the straps for $6.00:goodvibes

If I remember correctly, we paid around $20 in April. We bought one & it had rusted batteries in it. Returned it & the replacement didn't work either. We kept our cash after that. DD was disappointed but they were junk.

I looked at them in CVS today & it looked much nicer than Disney's.

We got ours in Walmart for $5! WE had to put our own batteries in.

At our CT Walmart they are $6.97 with the strap. You still need to put in your own batteries. They are pretty big- the same size as the WDW ones.

They are exactly $17.00 dollars with tax, and they do give you batteries. My son just had to have one, he spent his own money, so I couldn't tell him no. We were there last week during the heat wave, so we actually were kind of glad he had it!

The ones at my Walmart that are designed like the WDW ones do not have lanyards. I just bought 2 of them. They are a little smaller than the WDW ones. I put a plastic fastener around the neck and attached my own lanyard, works fine. I think mine were $8 each. Here is a picture of the ones I am talking about, Walmart also has a larger completely different style that does have a lanyard.

This picture is from Brookstone, who had them listed for $20:eek:. I couldnt' even get into their site for some reason.

I purchased the ones like those pictured in the post above (hrh disney queen) at CVS for $10. They are smaller and don't kick off as much wind as the ones at WDW. Also I really did not like the location of the on/off button -it kept turning it on accidentally. A plus (to me anyway), the CVS model had a finer mist. We ended up purchasing 3 at WDW and they were $17 each. Personally I don't expect either has a very long life although I did keep them and will try taking them back next time we go.

I bought two misters last year and they were passed between four people because I didn't want to pay all of the $$ for four of them............but as the day progressed and the temperatures climbed, I almost gave in and bought more.

Anyway, I was just wondering........
what department did you find these misters at Walmart? I've never seen them here and I would like to purchase two more so each of us will have one when we start our vacation next week.

the ones we have here are over with the sunscreen and swimming toys and floats area..I have a pink and green one with lanyards and mine were 4bucks each!! We take them on every vacation!!!

I saw them on the edge of the toy department near the paints/lights/toilet seats, etc... But that is a small Walmart I saw them in.

Every Walmart I have been in has them in the home improvement/paint department with the household fans. Check everywhere!

Deva, my boys got ones just like you and I described at Universal Studios a couple of weeks ago and we had the exact same problem with them getting bumped and turning on by accident.

Thanks Everyone! I went to WM and found the ones w/ the lanyards for $6. They were made by O2 and they came in three colors (blue, green and pink). There was a "seasonal" aisle near the front of the store and there was a whole row of fans (floor fans, desk fans etc...) and they were in that aisle.

My kids ask for the misters every trip and I always say "no" b/c I am too cheap :rotfl2: For $18 I am now their hero :lovestruc They were so excited when I showed them the misters I bought this morning and there was a quick agreement amongst them on who would get which color :hippie: Parent's of more than 1 child will know what a trick THAT is ;)

I appreciate your help:wizard:

Oh Wal-Mart also had the ones pictured above but I thought my kids would NEED the lanyard or they will surely loose them. They also had a mini mister fan that took 1AA battery (the ones I bought required 2xAA), and it had a clip to put it on a back pack. It looked like it would hold as much water as a water gun though.

I just bought one at Lowe's near their garden area for around $8. They are really nice.

We bought one in Disney last year and had rusted batteries in ours as well, they did replace it, but it broke a couple days later. I feel they are very cheap for $20.

I bought them at the WalMart by Medieval times for $6 each plus batteries. They were fun at first but then a royal PITA because my kids kept using them as squirt guns and making each other mad when one would not want to be squirted by the others. After the first few days we became acclimated to the tempatures and humidity so they got left in the vacation home.
