Mistakes in Exit Now book

I picked up the 2010 Exit Now book at Barnes & Noble last night. I looked up the exits in the city I live in, and there are several mistakes. I'm wondering how reliable this book is.

I've heard good things about the Next Exit book (they didn't have that one at B&N) - to anyone's knowledge, is that one more accurate?

I would assume that they are both just about the same. Businesses are constantly opening and closing, so I would think that it would be virtually impossible for the books to be up to date without a whole lot of user input. I would bet that they have a website where you can submit any discrepancies so that they would be able to update their next edition.

I understand about businesses closing and opening, but there were things listed at the wrong exit, and listed as north instead of south, that sort of thing.

There were so many mistakes like that for my city that I'm wondering if this book will be useful at all, or if it will make us frustrated. i.e. if we want to eat at Cracker Barrel, and the book says its north at exit 57, when it is actually south at exit 59, that would be frustrating.

Maybe it's time invest in one of them there GPS thingamabobs, then our problems are solved :woohoo:

Last year we were in Va and the Exit now book was missing a page on interstate 81 and then was missing all of 66 going into Washington. My DW called the number in the book and they sent us the pages that were missing, plus a few we didn't know were missing. It didn't do us a lot of good when we needed it.

Maybe those were the "bad neighborhoods"! ;)

We have used the Next Exit book since we started RVing in 06 and never had any issues. Never used the Exit Now book.

We've always used The Next Exit. I've looked up exits here local to us and it's amazing how many local "hole in the wall" restaurants they have in there. Very detailed.

Next Exit book is the best I also have a online account with them so it is always up to date.

We've had good luck with Next Exit the past 3 years coming down 95 from NH.

I returned Exit Now and picked up Next Exit today. A few small errors in it still, but not nearly as bad as Exit Now! Definitely like Next Exit better!

Not sure about Exit Now, but remember in The Next Exit , everything typed in red mean it's easily accessible for RVs. A very nice feature.:thumbsup2

With all due respect, the red mean absolutely nothing. I have fallen for the "red" means easy access too many times to trust it anymore.
