mission to space

We just got back. My family members (adults and kids as young as 6) who rode it LOVED it. My DH said it was the most intense ride he ever went on--and he meant that as a compliment!

I didn't ride it but they described it as Gforces on your body as well as turning around. They did not think it made you motion sick; however, several did say that they "felt funny" on and off for hours afterwards (including my DS9). DS9 and DN15 loved it but didn't want to ride it a second time. DD6 thought it was 'awesome'.

So I think I would say go ahead and do it unless you really fear motion sickness (the reason I didn't go).

kate I must say this ride is excellent. Now with that being said I have no trouble with any rides or roller coasters, none at all. But, I do have trouble with simulators i.e. star tours and body wars. I tend to get a little motion sick from them.

With that being said, I had to try MS atleast once. Well the ride is very intense. I did not feel like i was spinning but my mind did know something was'nt right. I made it thru the ride without getting sick, but my head was a little foggy for the next 2 to 3 hours. Have a great trip.

Mission Space is excellent - DW and I loved it. We are fine with rollercoasters and such. We did see a teenage girl losing her lunch afterward - it's very important to 1) do NOT close your eyes and 2) keep your head back in the headrest. Your body is tricked into thinking you are traveling on a rocket when in reality you are being spun - if you close your eyes or move your head, your body figures out what is going on and you can become disoriented (sick). But if you follow the directions, you'll have a wonderful ride!

i agree with the "funny Feeling " after the ride . Its very intense but worth riding We loved it & were talking about for days later.

I nearly came out of the line as there were notices up saying don't ride if you can't take spinning rides. The teacups make me feel ill.
I couldn't do it again straight away & not after a large meal.

But DO try it.

I just returned and I regretfully rode MS. It was a very intense ride. The first part of the ride was great but as it continued I started to get sick. I would never ride it again because I was sick for the rest of the evening and night. I never get sick on roller coasters or on most rides but this was way too much for me to handle. I guess I would suggest everyone to try it once, just be forewarned. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I hear it's basically like the gravitron at the carnivals but WAY MUCH MORE high tech. So if you couldn't handle the gravitron, i wouldn't suggest riding this ride.

My DH and DD rode it and both say it was way too intense and they will never ride again. My dd was screaming and crying and even my dh who loves rock n roller coaster and tower of terror said its an awful feeling and he was freaked out.

We are just back and rode MS three times during our visit. My husband and I thought the ride was great-- surprisingly intense (couldn't believe Disney would subject guests to so many G's!). I have a fear of heights and would never, ever ride Tower of Terror or anything but a kiddie coaster. My husband rides all those types of rides, however, and said that the first ten seconds or so of MS was more intense than a coaster or drop ride.

Neither my husband nor I are at all prone to motion sickness, however, and I love all kinds of crazy spinning rides that make many people sick. I was a bit leery of Mission Space after reading posts on this site, but I am very glad that I tried this out. Mission Space is a really, really impressive ride and very different from anything I have ever experienced (at a theme park or elsewhere).

Use your best judgement, but if in doubt, you might go ahead and give it a try...
