I know that most readers of these boards have a lot of information about Mission: Space, or have already been on it.
I still thought that I should share the information that I have from riding it with my son last week four times (Tues., Wed., Thurs., and Friday), along with the information that I have read and heard.
First, I must say that I am NOT a lover of roller coasters. We did RnRC two times because my son likes it. I can do without it. On the other hand, Tower of Terror has become my favorite ride. We rode it 13 times last week. My next favorite is Big Thunder. This will give you and idea of what I like and don't like.
I thought that the experience on Mission: Space was absoultely AWESOME!!!!
The first time through I was nervous not knowing what to expect, but after the first time I could not wait to go on again.
I will not share any details because it's best to experience it for yourself.
I will, however, tell everyone to LISTEN to the instructions very carefully!
I know in most cases we skip over the instructions, but in this case do NOT!
They will tell you to keep your head all the way back and to look forward at your screen only. If you lean forward or look sideways I understand that you may get sick.
They give everyone a last chance to exit before boarding your spaceship, just in case someone has second thoughts.
After the ride please take time to enjoy the activities inside. On your right there is a two team game made up of many players. We had a lot of fun playing this.
There are also individual games you can play. And don't skip the terminals where you can make and send free videos via e-mail. It may not look like much when you are recording it, but after they enter the special effects it comes out great!
During our stay testing took place from around 4pm until around 9pm. There is no guarantee that they will be open on any given day, but if you're in the area it's worth checking it out.
I still like Tower of Terror the best, but Mission: Space is now second on my list.
I urge everyone to try it......it is truly an amazing experience!

We did Mission Space for the first time yesterday, and we're going back today. It is so much FUN! I'm a coward, but it didn't scare me at all. I didn't feel the spinning, either. I did take lots of pictures and it will be one of my attraction of the day threads one of these days. :)

Did you guys feel any motion sickness?
I cant do the star wars ride or the other simulator. I am going to try them this year with a Dramamine.
I hate not getting to go on a ride just because I get sick. I always feel like I am missing out.:(
I still dont know if I can do MS.

We rode MS on Monday, 23-JUN, at 4:30pm. The ride opened sometime between 3:30pm and 4:30pm.

We don't think that there is much similarity between Star Tours and Mission: Space.
Star Tours (and Body Wars) throws you around front/back and sideways.
In Mission: Space the most awesome effects are during launch and the sling-shot around the moon.
In Mission: Space you are experiencing what the astrounauts feel during these procedures. There is really no tossing you around just for effects.
The surroundings are totally enclosed so that may bother some people. They tell you all this in advance so you can exit before the ride starts.
We can't really tell people with motion sickness whether to try it or not.
I skipped over Tower of Terror for three trips before I was brave enough to try it. Now it's my all time favorite.
Good Luck!
