Mission Space?

I'm back from my trip which was GREAT! Now I need to start planning my next trip. :)

I did manage to ride Mission Space and it was pretty good. I found out why there were discrepancies about the seat that swivels out for transfers. It seems that it is no longer being used. They had a problem with some people catching thier feet when the seat was swiveled back and they fell out of the seat. So it's not in use currently.

I was able to make the transfer into the ride fairly easily though. So it may be possible for you to ride without the swivel seat.

Thanks Bill. Glad you had a great time and were able to do Mission Space ;) Also glad my DH wasn't making things up about the swivel seat - thought I could trust him ;)

Hey DH and I are going in DEc...

Now that I know I can transfer (we think) into the ride...can Pooh-sized people get into the riding system?? DH and I are quite Pooh-sized and I will be making him ride it b4 I will. I will openly admit I'm quite scared to ride it from the discriptions I've seen so far.

:( :(

I've ridden the attraction many times and have yet to see anyone have a fit problem for being Pooh sized. And don't be scared...its really fun. :) I personally, in over 20 rides have never seen anyone get sick. I have never felt sick myself. If you can handle the teacups you should be okay on this. Even if you can't do the teacups you may still be fine due to everything that is going on to take your mind off the real movement of the capsule.

Thanks for the reports. It's nice to know it sounds like the ride will accomidate almost anyone brave enough to ride it.
:D

sorry I can only get online on the weekends anymore....

Thank you so much for the Pooh-date
:p :p   :teeth: :earseek: :earseek:

DH was more glad to hear that than me...I'm wreck knowing he'll make me ride it now :)

I feel your panic and pain, Wheelsie. I know my Dh will make me go on too so that i can "help" with DD who uses a wheelchair. She is a daredevel and will want to go on. Older Dd is a chicken and won't want to go on. I am a chicken too (and get sick from the teacups or carousel), but since I am the mom, I will have to go on (unless I can figure a way to help load and unload DD and not ride).

Okay, I weigh around 300 and my wife weighs around 400. Are we going to have problems on space mountain and Mission: SPACE or any of the other rides for that matter

You may have difficulty with Mission:Space. There is a very good page that is often cited here regarding WDW attractions and larger riders (is it Deb Wills's?)... You may want to check that out.

Here's a link to the page in Deb Wills site that Safari Steve is referring to.
One thing to be aware of on that page is that most of the specific information is in the links on the left side of the page. A lot of people assume that the intorduction page is all there is and don't go to the links. They have quite a bit of information (the page with ride photos may be esepcially helpful to Pooh size people). Also, because Deb Wills doesn't hae an interactive forum like we do here, she relies on people who report to her and then she writes up and puts things on her website. So, if you have some information she is missing, be sure to write her and suggest she add it.
