Okay guys. I am a BIG OLD CHICKEN when it comes to "scary" rides. Nothing that goes too high, too fast, upside down. Goofy's Barnstormer is even slightly intense for me (though I do it for the sake of my kids). What I need to know is . . . is MS frightening or is it only the spinning that people don't like? I don't mind intense, but I don't want to be scared. Sick is something I'll worry about later. ;)

i also chicken out of those kind of rides......but the first time my husband went on i think it made him very nautious and dizzy ,but i think he said he had moved his head a little. he never gets sick on rides. but all the other times he went on this ride (not the same day though) ,my dd and her friends went and they were all fine......... he also said he didnt move his head.....

My family and I rode it twice last summer without any problems. I didn't find it frightening at all. I was very nervous before riding it after reading all the posts where people felt sick but after riding it I can honestly say it didn't effect any of us at all. If you don't mind riding spinning rides then I think you'll do just fine. It's not hard to focus on the screen ahead of you because the story-line is really fun. I hope you'll consider giving it a try - and I hope you have the same luck we did in not feeling sick afterwards! :earsboy:

We rode on Mission Space ( DH, DS 10 , and me) great ride. Did not feel sick at all Tower Of Terror worse!!!! :confused3

momofpunkinboo, I'm with you on the scary stuff, and I won't do big rollercoasters because of the drops. I don't even like Splash Mountain because of the big drop. But I didn't find Mission:Space to be scary at all, just very intense. I'm also not much for spinning rides, like teacups - makes me very queasy. For many, if not most, people, you won't notice the spinning as long as you do what they say - keep looking straight ahead, and don't close your eyes. I had no sensation of spinning at all - it just felt as if I were really being launched into space. When I got off the ride, I felt just a bit off-center, so to speak, as if I had just gotten off a boat, but I didn't feel ill at all. I think you could handle it.

I didn't find it scary or "sickening". Just an awesome experience that I have never seen anyplace else. Spinning is not felt, just G-force pressure.

:cool1: :cheer2:

DW doesn't like at all, upsets her stomach. :wizard: :wave2:

It is an amazing experience, but I made good use of the motion sickness bags. Glad I rode it once, won't ride it again. Give it a try.

I only rode it once. It wasn't scary but I was disoriented for about 3 hours after. Did it once, that's it. I don't get motion sick, I've been known to ride ToT 2 times in a row followed by RnR 2 times in a row, no problem.

I rode it back in 2003 right after it opened and didn't get sick, but felt lightheaded afterwards. Although I did glance to check on my DD and that's what did me in. DD & DH rode it last week and they said it seemed more intense this time, but still enjoyed it. I went FP'ing while they rode, but I'm glad I tried it so I know what it's like!

We've all done it many times, never bothered any of us. It's def not scary, you don't even know you're spinning.

I have ridden MS about 6 times total now and I have enjoyed it each time. My DF and DS also enjoyed it and my Dad, who can't stand any thrill rides besides TT even wanted to ride it again. The ones in my family that couldn't handle it was all the women. My Mom experienced a lot of pressure in her chest with the take off. My DW got very sick and will not get on it again. My DD was the same way. If Goofy's ride is too intense for you, this will probably take you for a loop. Some of the differences are with Goofy's, it is an outside rollercoaster and you can see what is about to happen. With MS, this is a spinning ride in the dark. It is intense but we enjoyed it.
