Mission Space refurb extended

This morning's DisneyParksBlog suggests the attraction is still scheduled for a reopening in August. Hopefully there isn't a horrible disconnect between the operations staff and the social media group.
Since we rarely ride Mission Space since my heart event a few years ago, I just hope that "Mission Wimp" (our nickname) hasn't been toned down to just a stationary ride inside a pod. We'd have to come up with another nickname in that case.

I'm beginning to get concerned about my September trip. We knew Splash was going to be closed, but now Great Movie Ride, Universe of Energy, and Mission Space? I feel like we are going to miss a good portion of attractions.

It's nice that they are going to turn MS into a ride the whole family can potentially enjoy, but if it's still bad for claustrophobics, I won't be on it.

There may be a disconnect because Disney is saying "later this summer" so that could be as late as Sept 22nd. Both MDE and the internal calendar show an Oct 1st reopening. I'd go with the later date.

No! @FastPasser. you are supposed to give us good news! I really wanted to see Mission Space, especially because it looks like the Millennium Falcon ride will have similar ride mechanisms.

Yes they are, that's what I was alluding to in post #44.
You'd think after their debacle with River of Light they'd cross their T's (twice) and dot their i's (twice) for all announcements in the future. There are no excuses for the Blog to get the dates so wrong

Four of out 50-some attractions isn't really "a good portion."

Yes, the blog post does say reopening in August...

...but doesn't say which year :snail:
LOL! Maybe that is DPB way of covering themselves as they are so often wrong on details.

Having both Universe of energy and Mission space closed, (along with innoventions already gone) leaves a whole side of future world vacant except for TT-so yea- in Epcot it IS a significant portion, and DHS basically now has RnR, TSMM, Tot plus shows(2 of which have been around forever) for an entire park. And people still think Animal kingdom isn't worth it LOL
