Mission Space refurb extended

I know this is probably a dumb question - but I'm assuming that the "play" area will be closed for it as well...yay / nay?

It was not an option at all when I did my FP+ this week for September. Not going to miss it at all though. I had the good fortune to ride it when it was brand new, before there was a green side. :crazy2:

I was wondering about this! When I booked my Sept. a couple weeks ago, I swear it was there. A couple of people in our group were considering switching a FP and yesterday I went in to check and it was gone and no longer an option.

Will they be changing it into a ride that doesn't make me violently ill LOL??

Green side is getting an update to be just a scene tour around the Earth from space. They specifically said even the littest of family members will be able to enjoy so should be pretty tame.
I can ride the green side as it is/was...but the orange side nearly killed me. I honestly thought I would die in there....and I was sick for hours afterwards. That was WITH a scopolamine patch. Blech.

Yeah didn't sound like orange would have a massive change just updates. Green was massive change.

I love the orange side, they could ramp it up for me! But I'd settle for an update of the video & removing that super lame part with the joysticks.

If I'm not mistaken they said at D23 today that it was reopening next month?
I heard this too. Conflicting info. Possible that just one side of MS may be open & running in Sept while the other needs lengthier rehab time? Guess we'll have to wait for the D23 dust to settle to find out. Hopefully, we'll know better next week.

This is a bummer for me. I can't do the orange side because of motion sickness, but the scene tour sounds kind of boring to me. Ah, well. At least it will be good for families with small children. :)

Dining in mission space? Is this disneys poor attempt to salvaging a bad ride and an incredibly nice building? I have a feeling mission space is going to go the way of body wars and wonders of life....
