Mission Space Queue Concept Art

Looks too much like Test Track's queue for my taste. I was looking for a more space station, space dock environment that sucks you into the story and world. This looks like a warehouse with stuff in it, just like Test Track's is a warehouse with stuff in it.

Maybe they're trying to get a NASA look to the place.

I've been on the working floor of the Shuttle Simulator building at the Johnson Space Center in Houston as well as the Space Station assembly floor in Huntsville and they are basically warehouses with stuff strewn around.

Notice the display of the inside of the cabin. It shows two rows of two instead of the one row of four we have been hearing about. Maybe someone just had some fun with photoshop.

oh no! looks like Test Track..... hope this was some kind of first draft and they came to thier senses. I thought this was going to be more like the queue from Star Tours. Guess not.....

This also looks like what was shown briefly on the Travel Channel special a few months back..

Oh no....it does look like Test Track. This could be bad news. This better be good considering they took out my all time favorite ride Horizons for this.

I'll try to keep an open mind until it's open.

Oh boy....here we go again.

This is the same concept art that they had on The Travel Channel Secrets of WDW show that aired a while back. I think it looks pretty neat, but I do see how it looks kinda like the queue from Test Track. Maybe this is just part of the queue and there is more of it that looks a little different...just a thought. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Jesus, you make something look industrial and make it cool and magical and people go running around like it's the end of the world. The que looks awsome and from what I hear there will be things for the kids to do in the line built in.

But you have to admit, you gotta dig those aqua people... :jester: :smooth:

This looks like a prettied-up version of the “pre-show” rendering that’s been around for a while. The “concept” behind the queue line is that you’re at an International Training Center. So it’s supposed to look very industrial, high tech and the flags mean it’s international. I guess.

‘Mission: Space’ was designed from the outset for FastPass and the design brief therefore said “no pre-show”. The goal is to get the guests spinning as quickly as possible. This means that WDI could not create a long and elaborate queue like ‘Test Track’ or ‘Indiana Jones’ to serve the pre show function. So what you’ve got is basically a warehouse for the switchbacks.

Didn't they use those flags in the International Village while it was open?

AV - Interesting point. Here's yet another reason to not like FastPass. Will this mean that all future rides will NOT have long involved pre-shows? That would truly suck.
