I am aware that there are two versions of Mission:Space. The first one is that scares me pretty bad and I would like to refrain from riding it. However, I want to know EXACTLY what happens on the tame version, as I might enjoy that! I had once heard it is like Star Tours. Someone please help me, because I hate to miss out!

The tamer version of MS is just like the full version, except the ride 'capsules' do not move -- you stay stationary. The full version you are loaded into a capsule-like pod (it has four seats in a row, that's it) and as you watch your screen (a movie which 'shows' you that you are 'flying') your capsules starts to spin, but you can just feel the g-force (very much like the Gravitron at the fair). The tame version doesn't spin, but you see the movie and everything else, you just won't feel the g-force. Hope I'm explaining that well.

MS is really not a whole lot like Star Tours however. Well, MS does simulate space flight, but in a different way. In Star Tours you just sit in a theatre which bops side to side, up down and such a little to simulate movement. MS attempts to simulate space flight very accurately.

Good luck in your choice, if you are unsure of the full version, I'm sure the tamer version will be just as good without the worry. :thumbsup2

I have only ridden the tame version and it is a lot tamer than Star Tours IMHO. Not much happens at all. It shakes a little and rattles around to mimic movement but not much more than that. Try it, I just did 2 weeks ago and am glad I did. Most of the rest of my family chose to go on the real version but I enjoyed the tame one.

It didn't seem similar to Star Tours or Body Wars to me. Doesn't seem like quite as much rough shaking around. You are confined into a "capsule" with bars holding you down -- and there's some feeling of going up and down, whilke you look at a small screen. My DGS (6) and I liked it (I'm thinking I may try the orange version), but my DD (age 35) didn't. By the second time, the preshow was a little boring. Use fastpasses.

We recently rode the green side, finally got my dw to ride it. We have always rode the original version. The only difference is that it doesn't spin and give you the g-force. You still feel all the movement, which makes the ride still fun. I was expecting a very watered down version of the old ride. However, it wasn't. The line was shorter, my wife rode and liked it, so I expect we'll do the green from now on.

I'm with jcriket. I just rode Team Green (the toned down version) two weeks ago. Because of recent medical problems, I didn't think I'd ever be able to ride my favorite attraction again. My husband and I went on Team Orange many, many times so we were looking for anything different. The G forces weren't there but the sensation of the launch, to us, were the same. The warnings were changed and I believe the only one for Team Green was for pregnant women. Also changed for Team Green was the warning not to look around the capsule and to keep your eyes straight. Team Green could look around as much as they wanted.

I was very happy with the Team Green side. If you are uncertain in any way at all - go on Team Green. If you are still uncertain after going through the preshow, bail out. It's very easy to. Just wait until you are let out of the preshow and tell the Cast Member directed you to the capsule. You'll be shown the way out. It's painless.

We have only rode the orange version. You feel the G's and a forward movement. We just rode it last weekend. It is like going to Space when it gets there. Have never had a health problem from riding it. Took 8 yr old grandson on it and he enjoyed it.
