Mission: Space.....Grand Opening??!!

Just received my Disney Magazine yesterday...
It has a sweepstakes going for 4 days at WDW......
It states.......
"......be among the first to experience lift-off in Mission: Space, the new thrill attraction at Epcot, and will have an opportunity to mingle with astronauts and celebrities at the attraction's Premiere Party on October 9, 2003."

I am assuming this is the date for the media event. Anyone else have any info on this???

I called WDW info and they didn't have any info.....but it seems we always get the scoop here first!

The short answer is that you are correct & October 9th is the Press event. Rumor has it that M:S will soft open by the 15th of August.

and if there are any special activities planned? Not just for the day, but for the week/weekend???

I know it's kinda early to have this info

But we will be there that week and it sounds really exciting....especially since we just decided on that week because DH has been looking forward to MS for so long!! This may decide whcih day we go to MNSSHP too.

Can we take a "confirmation" as a definite? Will be there the week of Aug.19th and all fingers are crossed for Mission:Space soft opening!
