:bounce: O.k. people, I have another question for you all... Mission Space what do you think of the ride? My friend was just at Disney in December, and it was her first time on mission space, she said she thought if the ride would have went on any longer she would have gotten sick, and when the ride was over she had to sit and rest. Her son, said it was ok, but he wouldn't do it again. Also, she didn't close her eyes or try to lean forward- she followed the directions they gave. So I wanted to try that ride, but I really don't want to get sick. So, if you rode the ride, let me know what you think. please!

Thanks! :Pinkbounc

I love the ride. I rode on it before they tamed it down a bit, and let me tell you, it's nothing like it was when it first opened. I don't recommend eating before you go, just to be safe. As long as you follow the directions and don't look all over the place, you should be fine (providing you don't already have motion sickness issues).

I went on it during the Annual Pass Members Pre Opening Preview, (Show off Wilmot) and I didn't find it too difficult, but I am rough and tough....... I'm sad that they tamed it down.

Cheers Larry.

I first experienced this attraction in Sept 2003. I absolutely loved it...one of the best attractions I've ever been on.

I had no idea that it was "tamed down" when I rode it. What did they change about it since the AP preview?

I guess it all depends on what type of rides you like and what you can handle. DBF and I love it! But we can't do it more than once in a day. It kind of screws up our heads a little. LoL. :teeth:

Been there, done that, won't do it again unless I'm with someone who really wants to go on it. Most of my friends & family have the same opinion.

The Gforces were stronger when they first opened it, but too many people complained of nausea so they lowered them. And now, there are pretty nausea bags in every seat, LOL.

ETA: Since I can't find anything to confirm this beyond speculative rumor, I'm rescinding my statement. Sorry I was misinformed! It sure didn't feel as intense the last time I rode it!

I rode with no problems at all, as did my 5 year old. The only thing that I could see getting to people is the closed in space. I really liked the ride, but I liked Soarin' more. Try that first, and work your way up to MS.

Personally I hate it. I can feel the spinning even following all the warnings and instructions. And if it does make you feel ill, that usually lasts for the rest of the day.

We loved it. We like fast crazy stuff though, so I sympathize with the motion sickness victims who can't take this. I thought it was a very cool effect. I'm just weird sometimes, though.

my personal experience: i rode mission space ONCE in september, 2005, and if i live to be 100, i'll NEVER do it again! i became so ill and nauseous (and i've never had severe motion sickness before) that i spent well over an hour sitting inside mousegears trying to regain my composure-i turned pale as a corpse, broke out in a cold sweat that soaked my clothes totally through, and the nausea was unbelievable; it lasted well over 2 hours, and i never want to feel that way ever again-i was sure i was going to vomit the entire time. if you decide to ride it, i hope you have a much better experience.

Mission:Space is one of my favorite rides ever. I love it so much! :cool1:

I felt sick afterwards. I won't do it again. My kids (12 and 9) had three FPs apiece for it last year and after they did it once they didn't want to do it again. They didn't feel sick; they just didn't want to spend the time (even with a FP).

I loved it...my DEW almost got sick...and my DD, 8, thought it was pretty cool...it's intense as far as disney rides go...and you do experience some g forces...but I think its worth at least one ride to see for yourself...

It really depends on how strong your stomach is. You experience about 3-4 G's on this ride, so it's very intense. A lot of people get sick on it. I personally don't, and I love this ride. It's one of the most thrilling and amazing rides ever if you don't get motion sickness.

I have never had a problem on any huge or launched coaster and I've been on many...however Mission:Space made me feel a bit strange for a few hours and I personally saw 2 people get sick after I came off the ride.

I don't think it's anything special and IMO it's a let down.

I have to say... I love it!!!! I was always afraid of scary rides- but I rode this and loved it! It's pretty intense (mostly because of the pre-ride stuff) but I'm new to big rides (rode rockin' roller coaster the same time) but loved it! It's intense.... :cool1:

I love thrill rides. As far as roller coasters go, the loopier and swoopier the better. But I can't take spinning. My inner ears are apparently quite wimpy. The "teacups" in MK make me feel sick to my stomach.

I love the IDEA of Mission:Space. I'm glad it's there. I'm glad I tried it once. It was an exceptionally cool feeling. But it also made me very queasy. I knew the risks, I'd heard the horror stories, but I just love thrill rides and I wasn't going to let 500 warnings keep me away.

FYI, my father tried it about a year before I did. Spinning never bothered him in his life. He was 71 and was in between rounds of chemotherapy. He loved Mission:Space. He said if the chemo never made him feel sick he sure wasn't going to let a little amusement ride do it to him.

Contrast that with my father-in-law. I rode Mission:Space with him in May. He had already refused to ride ALL of the "mountains" in MK (including Splash!), refused Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror, and almost wet himself on Test Track and Dinosaur, but he LOVED Mission:Space and the only reason he didn't ride it a second time (we had extra FastPasses) is he didn't want to ride it alone, because I was in no condition to go back for seconds. He's afraid of heights and speed but apparently his inner ears aren't affected by intense spinning like mine are.

I rode Mission Space for the first time last month and agree with ChrisFL. In fact, I'm a little surprised at the number of people on this thread proclaiming it to be a great ride.

I had no problems with it and I'm glad I rode it once but I had to kind of chuckle after getting off because I thought it was kind of corny and wasn't all that fun or interesting.

I'm glad I walked right on (via the single rider line) with no wait because I think I would have been really bummed if I had spent an hour waiting in line to ride it.
