MS was awesome, did not feel a thing, not the g-forces nothing! In fact when it was over I said "that's it???" The warnings in the pre-show scared the kids away. I did feel claustrophobic when they first put down the shoulder restraint and CM loosened it up for me. Did not see anyone getting sick anywhere. DH felt queazy, he closed his eyes. He also felt the g-forces, said he will not do it again. I can't wait to try it again in 7 weeks when we go back for a long weekend without the kids. Short waits on it all week, even on stand-by.

the 5-g's are not simulated, they are actually induced by the centrifuge you are sitting in...
You didn't feel pushed back into your seat?
You didn't feel the drop when landing on Mars (similar sensation to diving and landing in an airplane)?

I can understand the sensations not being as intense as you had imagined (though difficult, it's still possible for me to understand), but to say you felt NOTHING... that seems enough to warrant an emergency CAT scan.
Did other people in your cabin react similarly? If so, it's possible (although nearly improbable) that your centrofuge did not turn... but if the other people you rode with felt dizzy, experienced added pressure (which is quite noticeable), etc, then you may have some serious physical problems (inner ear, nerve, and memory). I am razzing you a bit, but are you sure you felt "nothing"??? that's more than a bit odd.

Steve,

Just out of sheer curiosity, how do you know that M:S pulls 5 G's? I have been trying to find literature from Disney about how many G's it pulls but haven't found any. I assumed it wouldn't be as high as 5 because the Space Shuttle only pulls 3 G's and I would have thought Disney would try to be as close to reality as possible.

Thanks for the report on MS! I will definatly be trying this!

It pulls between 2 and 3 g's. 5 g's are quite uncomfortable to people who aren't used to that sort of thing.

Still, if you didn't feel any acceleration the ride probably didn't operate the way it was supposed to.

I can't find the piece of paper that I was given, but I was pretty sure that "5-Gs" was printed on an information sheet that I had. I am not an expert on G-forces, and perhaps I misread (could have been that the shuttle astronauts experience 5-Gs and M:S is the closest that most civilians will get to that intensity???) 5 may have been a misprint, or I could be remembering wrong (I get so many little pieces of litter...ature...

In any event, 2-3 x normal gravity is certainly noticeable.
