Last June my step-dad, step-sister, a friend, and I took out first trip to EPCOT (only because we got free 4-day hopper passes...otherwise we wouldn't have gone!) and my step-sister has a notoriously weak stomach...however I assured her that the ride would be OK :rotfl2: :confused3 ...WAS I WRONG. She did the stupid thing and closed her eyes to make her feel better but everyone should know that that makes it more intense! Anyway, afterwards she was in the bathroom for about a half hour puking her insides out :worried: ...though I had to laugh because I knew she couldn't handle it... :rotfl: :sad1:

So I'm curious, have any of you or anyone you've traveled with had a bad reaction to this ride? I loved it by the way...rode it 2x in a row!

I've been on MS dozens of times and after the ride ends I've only seen one poor girl who didn't look right, she didn't look like she was going to puke but seemed dizzy and close to fainting!

I must say that was a pretty MEAN thing to do to your sister! Shame on you ...

I followed all the rules and had the worst experience. Felt like I couldn't breathe during take-off and came off the ride with the worst kind of dizziness ever. Had to lie on a bench for 10 minutes.

No nausea, though.

...and I have never had any problem with ANY other ride, ever!

Most people have no problem, though. Lucky them!
:flower:

My DD10 came out a little weak the first time around, but my DH and I took it well.

I loved the ride...got the T-shirt... NEVER AGAIN...LOL

I followed the rules to the letter and I still got off sick as a dog so I can't wait to take my friends down so they can experience it..

Mission: Space has never bothered me a bit, except for a slight headache from the g-forces after riding it twice in a row very quickly. But I get a similar headache after riding Tower of Terror twice in rapic succession, or Rock and Roller Coaster, or Dueling Dragons, or any other coaster.

Those who get sick from M:S are not always the same people who get sick on other thrill rides, and some of those who get sick on M:S are folks who are perfectly fine on super-intense coasters with 30 loops and 20 spirals. M:S is a totally different ride experience, and it's impossible to accurately predict who it will bother and who it won't.

We have never had a problem with Mission Space and we have been on it several times. We follow the rules although I am probably getting more lax in doing exactly what they say. There is just too much to see and my curiosity will get the better of me someday.

I followed the rules to a tee and still came out feeling light headed and a little off. I can do every other ride except tea cups. :confused3

MS is my DMIL's favorite ride! She's 78 years old!!!!
I love it too, but always make sure to look straight. Haven't been sick yet.

I never get sea-sick and love coasters but everytime I get off this ride I am not right for hours. Doesn't matter if I've eaten before on not. It isn't worth it anymore. :flower:

we were there last trip when it first opened ....... :scared1: didn't even want to chance getting sick on vacation.....

I thought I would have a problem and was a bit queezy on that first "take off" but after that....WOW! What a ride. It is now my favorite and last trip there was no line so I did it 6 times in a row.

It got easier each time and now I am able to really enjoy it.

There were a total of ten of us...I would not get on Mission In Space...(the reason being that I knew if I got sick I could NOT look AWAY from the screen like I could in other simulator rides) That left nine....Six out of the nine were either really sick, somewhat sick, a little sick, or had a headache....Those six said they would never ride it again.....Now, my sister....one of the three who had no problem at all...absolutely LOVES that ride..... :scratchin

You sound like a big meany! I'm glad I am not one of your traveling companions!

We have riddent it a dozen times, but the last trip :crazy2: We were so dizzy when we got off. I guess we are getting old ;)

We rode it the day it opened back in August '03. None of us (myself, dh, and dd, then 9) had no problems. But, when dh did it again within an hour of the first ride, he did get a headache. so, he can't ride it twice in one day. But dd and I have no problems at all. Well, except for that one time I ate lunch, then headed over to M:S. That was a huge mistake. Stupid on my part. That take-off sequence is hard on the internal organs, so of course I got queasy!!! But, not enough to get sick.

I rode MS one time... when I got off, I felt like I had a hangover... I needed a real COKE, and a greasy hamburger. Never again... I do TOT, and RNR, any thing like that but put me in a teacup or anything which spins, and it's not good.

I am not the biggest fan of this ride..I will go on ANY roller coaster and have been on the TOT about 10 times in a row (a very rainy day when no one was in the parks) and did not get sick but I guessits the cenrifical forces that kill me...M:S was a cool ride but when im on it i feel like i cant breath or like my chest is collapsing into my lungs ...I can do it once per trip just so i dont abandon the group....but definetly not more than that!

I rode it with my DS15 a year ago. Neither of us threw up afterwards, but we both didn't feel well for the rest of the day. We ended up missing out on eating at one of our favorite restaurants :(
