Mission Impossible II-Updated p.15 #212~ The last day of our mini surprise trip.

No, I am not tardy. I prefer to call it "fashionably late."
Geesh!

Hi again Missy in Minni. Like Monies august and your december, I had a november similar to that growing up.
My mom's b-day was the 25th
Mine the 26th,
And my folks anniversary the 27th.
Then there was that little thing called Thanksgiving that usually fell on one of them. And my uncle, her brother, that always spent turkey day with us is the 22nd.
Man, that cake would set off smoke alarms!
And DAMN, I got tired of turkey for my birthday.
And the day after.

Do you recall me telling you before that my oldest son and you share the same birthday? He HATES turkey! So I make a ham too.

yes I did ask, but boy was I confused. I thought you were talking about a December trip, not a "practice" one first! Who do you think you are? Me?

I did blame you and reading your trip reports for this.

We also did stay at Sports in february, and we like the Casita's section the best.

Aren't those 2 different resorts?

Ok, ok, Sports is ok, in MHO, the best section there is Home Run. (that''s the baseball section), many of the rooms are either adjacent to, or overlook the pool there. That's where I'd request if I had a choice. The basketball and Touchdown sections we thought were boring. (Touchdown is the football section, geesh.)

Monica, have a great time, you and Tim deserve a break.

Thanks, my whole family needs a break.

This time, try to remember to set the date on the camera, ok?

Or do you need me to show you how to do this?:woohoo:

I gave up having to set the camera time each time I charged the battery.

I think you'll like our little baseball outing. Stay tuned.

Wow! Phew! Cause we really like Chef Mickeys and that's another I was trying for but got this instead.

I am dying to ride the Toy Story ride. It's my all time favorite Disney Movie. It will just have to wait.

I have actually been boycotting Chef mickey's for a few years now. We had been for breakfast 2 or 3 times before visiting with my niece and nephew, then 4 and 2. And my mom and I. It started with a horrible server who let our plates pile up before clearing them and NEVER refilling any of our drinks. And just an overall "I hate my job" attitude. Then the characters came around. Well they were nice enough but goofy bypassed us twice! Finally as we were nearing the end of our meal, I mentioned to our server that we still had not seen Goofy. Well she told me that she had not control over the characters and I'd have to talk to a character handler. Annoyed, I saw a handler without a character near our table and told her that we were leaving soon, etc. She said that the characters have to follow their pattern and that he would eventually make it to our table, completely missing the point that he had already bypassed us twice and we were leaving soon. Very annoyed now, we left and I mentioned to a manager that we never saw goofy, he kept passing our table, etc and she promptly led us to the front of the restaurant where he was now meeting and greeting with guests that were waiting for a table. We got our picture and a chance to say hello but it was not the same and other people's kids kept pulling and circling him. So ever since, I have refused to eat there. Even before that though, I never saw the hype that the restaurant got.

As for cape may, I first ate there when my niece was only 9 months old with my mom, DB, and DSIL. Chip (or Dale?) came to our table and fell in love with my niece. He knelt down and held her in his lap and rocked back and forth. He was at our table for a long time, just cradling her. A mom sitting near us actually started crying because she thought it was so sweet. Ever since then we have continued to have great character interaction, and like I said before the food is better IMO than chef mickeys.

And you will LOVE Toy Story Mania. My mom and I rode it twice in July and it was soooo much fun. DHS is not my favorite park and we actually skip it a lot, but I will have to make special trips now just so I can go on it.

I think you made the right decision on CRT. I know it is the Castle and all but really I think it is overrated for 2TS. I bet you will all have a wonderful time back at 1900 PF!

Allyson

Chef Mickey's is so so in my book.
The food was not good and the caracter interaction was so so.

I LOVE the princess lunch in Epcot.
My grandmother realy made it speshel(sp).
My Gram asked Jasmine were she lived, (She didn't understand the princesses were in caracter.) Jasmine seid she lived in agrabah. My Gram asked how you get there, Jasmine seid "It's a magical island you can only get to by magic carpet." Oooohhhh.
My Gram also asked Ariel hom meny sisters she had.:headache:

I woke up soooooo early to go, where else? The grocery store. They see me coming and the run to restock the shelves. I don't only shop for my family of 6, but I also shop for a day care of many. I can't figure one thing out. When to get to the check out, I only have 1 cart. When I leave there's 2. I always say it all fit when I got it here.

Anyways, I needed supplies for the game. We were taking the kids to the Tigers game against the Oakland A's for my son Zach's 10th birthday.

It was a special day. Not only was it Zach's Birthday, but it was:

Kids run the bases!
Meet the players!
and photo on the field day!

Zach is a huge Tiger Baseball fan and he's been begging us to take him to this game, and of course we were, he just didn't know it.

See we get lots of practice with surprises.

I bought 10 tickets for this game and his aunt, uncle, cousins and grandma all were there.

He woke up knowing that we were doing something. He kept asking me for hints. So I gave him a bunch, that were kinda true, but not completely false.

He thought we were going to the zoo.

There are tigers there!

4 to be exact.

We are all packed like we would for the zoo and we load up in the car.

I put a bandana around his neck and he looked at me funny. I told him that at a certain point he was to be blindfolded. He actually thought that was cool.

Until he got hot.

Tim and I kept talking like we didn't want him to hear us but we know he could, and kept up the zoo talk. It was killing him.

We are nice like that.

Then we pulled into the parking garage, like we do for the zoo, and he felt the incline and really believed we were at the zoo.

Zachs10thBirthdayatTigerStadium001.jpg

We parked and placed the tickets and a new baseball cap on his lap and he opened his eyes. Saw the tickets and cap and thought they were just for another time until we told him it was for today!!!!

Zachs10thBirthdayatTigerStadium002.jpg

We headed straight for the field!

The grass is so soft, softer than the new carpet we just put in the basement.

Matt's apparently into bunny ears.:sad2:

And we pushed and shoved our way to the front of the rope. I just kept saying it was his birthday could you please let him shake a few hands?

Miguel Cabrera

Justin Verlander

There's more, these were just his favorites.

They did win, we did have lots of fun! Matt survived another game without reacting (peanut allergy) and it was a very happy birthday!

Yep, he's here too!

wow.....what a great time! glad zach had a good day. looks like fun!

Oh, look it's a miracle!!!!! Nebo trying to give Mony tech tips!!

I rhink the end of rhe world has come! :faint:

Nope! Hasn't arrived just yet, but it is coming up your driveway.

Monique-a, great shots from the B-Ball game, I get the feeling that you are not that big a baseball fan, if you were, you would have rubbed Maggs in my face. It is a shame that they were picked to wind the pennant this year, and now they can't even reach .500.

such a shame.

By the way, you do remember your mission on this trip?
Doncha? Doncha? Doncha?

It is to post a certain picture from a certain spot!
'Member? And the spot looks like ,,,,,,,,,,

THIS!!

Monica - Zach looks like one happy 10 year old. Y'all are really goog (Moover talk  ) at keeping secrets. You need to give me some pointers. I'm always so excited that I can't wait to tell them. :hyper: I have NO self control. :sad2: How was the outing for Tim? Still sending prayers your way. ::yes::

Wow,

the weather looks beautiful for Jan. in Detroit!!! LOL

Sorry, couldn't help myself......I am challenged too when it comes to camera buttons and functions.

Monica, what a cool birthday gift! It looks like Zach had a fantastic time! And the pics are great....no matter what the date says! :rotfl:

Sounnds like a fun day, Mony!

Glad your family had a great outing, you deserve it!

As if I don't already rub enough in your face. He just keeps getting up and comes back for more.

Yes, it was I who suggested it and I will post my pics on "your" thread. I have a few plans up my sleeves, dochatknow?

He was mad cause he missed a few plays, other than that, just peachy.

I am not challenged, I do all the electrical settings over here. I can program, put together, assemble and desemble just about anything. It's the principle of the matter and I choose not to set the date properly just to annoy Nebo.

See the above comments. I thought you movers were here to Support me, not DIS me?!

Am I gonna get to see you one of these trips?

What a cool birthday surprise :yay:

I didn't know Tiger Mickey was at the stadium!!!

Yes, you should come down to visit him sometime. He gets lonely.

Well, I just may have come up with an update.

1,000 ways to surprise your kids! Up soonishly. Maybe even tonight.;)

I got an email several weeks back, many of us have, that the airlines were making some changes.

Like charging for checked luggage and canceling flights and moving passengers around.

Since this is a mini trip, I’m doing my best to only check 2 pieces of luggage and one gate checked stroller. I just found out today that to check a stroller is free. Or is it? We will see, always hidden surprises. I was originally told you had to pay $15.00 over the phone. DH got an email today from them saying something totally different.

The change for us, was our departure flight which originally was scheduled at 9:50pm, is now leaving at 7:40pm. That one little change made a huge change to our day.

I’ve been thinking of the best thing to do this last day.

The previous mission said Disney Quest. DQ splits up my family. I will be shopping with the girls. Or will I?. DQ opens at 11:30am. This would only give the boys about 4 hours of play time and me shopping time. I think that’s awfully short for their first time, and this could be very disappointing for 11 and 10 year old boys who love video games. I can see a major meltdown in the makings with this one. Yes, I can throw a pretty big tantrum if I can’t get my shopping in.

Another problem is my favorite place to shop is: World of Disney. If I go in there, we will see the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique salon. If we see the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique salon and we don’t have an appointment, I’m not the only girl who is going to be melting down. I want to save that for our December trip.

The appointment, not the meltdown.

Maybe just hanging out at our resort and swimming will have to suffice. This is something I have to reconsider. Maybe I’ll leave it to chance. Oy! There’s a disaster waiting to happen. DH and I talked it over and hanging at the pool it is!

You would think I’d have all of this worked out by now. But life has me busy. This week alone there are appointements to: a radiologist, a surgeon, an oncologisht, a physical therapist, a dentist, and my OB.

Not to mention the big party we are having at the end of the week for 3 of my kids birthdays, one being a 1st birthday.

Tim and I have discussed 1,000 different ways to surprise the kids and we still haven’t decided on how to do it. There is the big party on Sunday and we can let it out of the bag then. Or we can wait until the next Sunday, the day we leave for the hotel. We like to get a room next to the airport the night before and let the kids swim. Makes the morning we leave so much easier.

They know we are going to do something that week and they said they wanted to drive to Muskegon and visit Michigan’s Adventure. So right now, they think we are doing that.

I haven’t figured out why I am packing the suitcases in secret. But I am. The clothes all have disney stuff on them and there are some new items they haven’t seen yet.

The clothes packed in zip lock bags, the glow sticks, the trading pins and lanyards MIGHT give it away.

I started out with 2 large suitcases, and then Tim read that the any bag over 62 linear inches would be charged more. $100 more to check! He said he came up with 64 linear inches for each suitcase. Forget those!

I have condensed, taken things out, placed an order with garden grocer, and begged him several times to put some things together that I can pack already. I am now using the medium sized suitcases. I need to make sure that everything we need doesn’t exceed 50 pounds. Oh and fits!

How nice, he just brought some stuff to me now. I have all the kids in one suitcase and Tim and I in another with any overflow needs.

Speaking of my wonderful husband. He just came back from his apt. with the radiologist. Looks like his only option is to do surgery cause, and I said this to him, how else are we gonna know what we are dealing with if we don’t operate. We can’t just say it’s cancer. So, looks like another surgery is in his near future. Please pray for him. They see spots scattered on several ribs now. I really hope these are from when he was hanging christmas lights. He fell and cracked several ribs. Tomorrow we go and see the oncologist. I wouldn’t be surprised if we walk out of there with his surgery scheduled. Tomorrow is date night with dinner and a movie, on me.;)

I was thinking of creating 4 envelopes. One for each child to open this Sunday. 3 would have one word each on them. The baby’s would have all the details. They’d have to put them in order and wait for the baby to come around to opening hers to get the whole message. If she doesn’t destroy it in the process.

Then they’d have no clue at all.

Driving to the hotel near the airport may also tip them off cause that’s what we did last trip. If they do have a clue and ask, then I will be honest. If they still don’t get it, then I think at one point before the night is over I’m just gonna say, you know, I have these tickets here for a trip to WDW, who wants to go?

The last time we sprange this on them the morning of, Zach got all shakey and nervous. I think it’d be good to give it some time to sink in. Maybe I can check in early while they are at an early dinner and decorate the room and hang a banner that reads, You are going to Disney World! There are so many ideas floating around in my head.

It’s so hard to choose. :confused3

Mony, I am counting on the December trip. Your August trip falls right in the middle of my forecast week, blech! I am available for a movie viewing of Twilight in Decemberpopcorn::

Great update on your pre-trippie. I am sure anything you decide on to surprise the kids will be great fun for them. I look forward to hearing about it.
Dang about Tim needing another surgery, I hope it can wait till after the trip.

Mony, I was actually being sincere! I would NEVAH poke fun, since I can barely even operate my cell phone! And I may or may not have also committed the camera-date offense a time (or 12) as well........:rolleyes1

Hi honey Mony! I'm reading but I'm behind. I'll be back (to quote our glorious Governator).

We might have told them tonight.:rolleyes1

AND I'm very frustrated with my video editing program at the moment.:sad2:
