Drinks $2.00 vs $2.50
----------------------------
Until recently, we packed our pop (soda to most of the rest of the world). It wasnt difficult with a stoller to carry the weight, but no one really wants to carry a packable cooler badly enough to have a cold, caffienated beverage on hand. I didnt necessarily think $2.50 for a 20 oz ice-cold beverage was unreasonable it was just more than I was willing to pay.
Picking up on someone elses trip report that they were experimenting with $2.00 prices at MK, we did indulge one very hot, weary afternoon.
Perspective:
- Price for same bottle on Goat Island (Niagara Falls) = $2.50
- Price for same bottle at Thunder Of Niagara Air Show (Niagara Falls) = $3.00
What is it worth to have ice cold beverage on a hot, steamy Florida afternoon, knowing the boost it will provide the troops - without carrying it around? Well, not priceless, but certainly $2.00 (for me).

Starring Roles (MGM) thought the new format offered more options; makes it a viable alternative for lunch, rather than just bakery items. Had 2 chocolate croissants - lotsa chocolate....
Kringla (Epcot Norway) first time, tried variety of items (dont have receipt handy); enjoyed the respite; have vague recollection that the food was better than average. Will try again next year.
Kaki-Gori (Epcot Japan) first time, better-than-average snow cone; refreshing. Didnt find it addictive as reported by others, but likely do it at least once per trip.
Big River Brewery (Boardwalk) had the beer sampler. If you like beer, this should be a must do as they are brewed here. You get 7 different types (about 2 oz each) on a placemat with explanations of what each one is. I really enjoy this once per trip. We usually split it between the two of us.
Wolfgang Puck Café (not Express) in the Marketplace the Butternut Squash soup is a must do (for ME49) every trip. It has been very consistent (delicious) every time. DVC 10% discount.
All Star Café (ESPN counterpart at WWOS) DH47 and DS16 tried this out. They dont recall anything particularly memorable or different from the ESPN club.
Beaver Tails this used to be a must do but their unusual schedule resulted in not being open when would try to go. I finally got to the hut once when it was open the first time since they renovated. They no longer cook (deep fry) them onsite. Now they heat up some pre-cooked thing so I didnt want to spoil the memory by trying one. The CM commented that they are healthier for you now. I explained to him that I only eat them once a year, so flavor is more important to me than calories / fat. Maybe I am the only one who thinks that way!! Anyway, I thought Id ask here is there anyone who has any assessment of how the new ones compare to the old ones?

I have never tried Beverly. ISC was always too cold for me to go in (after the first time) and the pop stations reminded me of BK. In the spirit of showing DSF13 everything, I went in with the crew this time and managed to capture DSF13 trying Beverly on film (I didnt plan to do this it just happened). Very funny picture. The Beverly Circle of Life continued as DSF13 immediately parleyed his new-found knowledge by tricking a complete stranger into trying it, thus securing his designation as NBTC (Next Best Travel Companion) and raising the bar for future aspirants
