A bit of scheduling magic.......
At this point in our veteran career as Disney-vacationeers, we are past multiple-hits-on-major-attractions as our primary touring goals. I really appreciate the entertainment, it is always top-notch. However, it can be hard to find, when it is not posted on the park guide / map, and this is especially true at the Magic Kingdom, where the focus is on parades and Castle Forecourt shows. It has helped to prepare by reading Steve Soares site, but the following mini-schedule was one of the highlights of my trip - a plethora of wonderful music & atmosphere, back-to-back, in one location.
I was listening to the Tomorrowland Band somewhere around 3:00. I asked them when they would be playing next, and he said that would be on Main Street for the Flag Retreat. So, I headed over to Main Street, and without a plan and only a small clue, I was able to see all of the following, sequentially, only moving a few feet:
Barbershop Quartest (Dapper Dans) (15-20")
Saxophone Quartet (15-20")
Flag Retreat (with the Brass Band again) (20")
Who knows what the schedule might be off season, or next season, or next year. But if you like atmosphere and music, position yourself near the Emporium end of Main Street around 4:00 and plan to stay through the Flag Retreat.
If you are really counting on this, check with City Hall earlier in the day to make sure the entertainment schedule will unfold this way on the day that you are there.......
