Mission Accomplished~Now A Trip Report~Day 10~A BRIEF CONCLUSION~

Why are men like that? Because they like to think it was THEIR idea.

And I can so see you holding your sleeping kids jumping up and down. :-)

I need to pack more. Yay.

OK, OK, we are going to be there NEXT WEEK! :Pinkbounc It is going to be a looooooong week for me, but I can't imagine having to keep it a secret! You are doing a great job! I can't wait to see video of their reactions!

Here's a little single-digit dance for ya. :cool1:  :cool1:

You DO have a big heart for sharing another little piece of your plan with us before you go. And you are a great secret agent mommy! Your kids are gonna LUV ya forever for this! (Yes, they do grow up and remember and appreciate!)

Sounds like you have everything all set and are ready to roll. Mission accomplished for now! So, just take it easy this next week and try not to get too anxious so you won't slip up and spoil the surprise right before you go! OMG, that would be awful after all your planning!

Have a safe, magical, surprise-filled trip! Looking forward to your TR and that video when you get back! Or, rather when I get back since...

I'M RIGHT BEHIND YOU!

Hi Monica,

Just popping in to say hi and HOORAY it's only 7 days away!!!!! :cheer2:

It's so CLOSE!! You must be over the moon with excited energy! And not being able to talk to the kids about it?? You must be beyond the point of bursting!!

Just stopped back in to say WOO HOO...it's so soon for you!! :cool1:

:cool1: :cool1: I only have to wear my secret agent mommy disguise for 1 more week. :cool1: :cool1:

This will be the longest week of 2006. In the beginning, the 152 days seemed like forever. Then you just get caught up in life and that distracts you some. The last 30 days get here and you are like whoa, better start packing where did the time go? Now, I’m 97.2% packed, have just 1 or 10 more errands to run, and these 7 days can’t go by any slower.

Can you imagine if I told the kids now? “That’s gonna take f-o-r-e-v-e-r!” I’d hear them say. You know, they say that when they have to wait 5 minutes. So, I think the secret might be saving my sanity a bit from the constant, “How much longer now?????” whines.

I got very excited when the DME packet came. That meant the trip was getting close. We’ve never used DME and we still won’t. (record scratch)

DH rented a car. :wizard: Yep. He rented a mini van! Originally he was going to rent one for the day he takes the boys to US/IOA, but he can see it in my eyes, I want to be in control. You see, the one part of secret agent school I failed was How Not to Get Motion Sick He knows that I have to drive at all times. He likes it though. He always has a designated driver. He knows I am not a good passenger. Remember when we drove down last time? Yep, I did 87% of the driving. I slept when he drove. Once I had to deal with Malorie. She was tired of the car seat and didn’t want Grandma or Daddy anymore. So I had to suck it up, literally and be with her in the back. That was awful. Where was I………….oh ya!

Most importantly he knows how much of a hassle it’s gonna be lugging the stroller and our house around with us, and he remembers how easy it was last year when we drove having our car at our disposal. We had the back set up where you didn’t have to unpack the stoller and fold it down to fit in the car. We just picked it up off the ground as is, less one baby, and put it in the car. 1-2-3!

Can’t do that on Disney Transportation. You have to take everything out, even the kid, and divvy everything to anyone who can hold something, get your family on the bus, seated, and haul the stroller if you can figure out how to fold it while everyone is staring and tapping their foot and waiting on you. It’s a nightmare. It’s one of the things I loath the most. I think that is the cause of most couple’s quarrels. The next time you are in the park and you spot a couple fighting, see if they have a stroller. Most likely they will.

I have to back up some. I was searching for a rental car for part of our trip. He didn’t like the idea then and didn’t want to spend the extra money. But when he found a car for the whole week at around the same price he booked it. Why are men like that? :confused3

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc On to the good stuff! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We are going to take the kids to Dinner on Wednesday and tell them that we are taking their Grandma to the airport the next day and spend some time with her at the hotel. That’s all I have clearance to say.

The other big thing, is after these next 7 days my mission is up and I can finally relax and be the real me. I can share all my excitement with my kids. I can jump up and down with them because that is what we are going to do at 5am on Friday morning. :bounce: Asleep or not we are jumping. :bounce: Even if I have to hold them in my arms, we will be jumpin! :bounce:

Tim spent some timing working with the new video recorder. Hopefully we can get the big surprise on video and put it up here in my trip report. I am not missing filming that!

Now I already told you more than I was supposed to. The rest you really have to wait for. popcorn:: Thanks for reading and I’ll have lots more when we return. Several more sleeps and we'll be there! 5 more workdays and we'll be there!

Ok. Breath. Whew. Yes!!!!!! Very excited. 3 more work days. Just 3, then we head to the hotel on Thursday. That night might be one of the longest nights for us. We'll maybe 16 hours of labor with my first son tops that, but this comes close ok?

Thanks for all the cheers. You all have been my rock!

With all my excitement I have pent up, my house has never been cleaner and I've never exercised more!

I just came to give you some moral support to keep the secret. I'm sure I would be going NUTS!!! Just a few more days now -- you can make it!

Hey wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving early.

Tonight the plan starts to make it's magic. Tonight is the beginning of the set up. Half of the truth will come out tonight!

Boy did their little eyes see alot today, but they were blind to what it was all about.

Hee Hee

My superiors ought to be quite pleased. I made it all the way to the start of the plan. I did it. I kept my secret and now it's time to put the plan to work. It's not hard anymore. Actually it's fun, and thrilling, and the suspense is just building.

I got a secret
I got a secret
and I'm not telling you
I'm not telling you

I've been humming this all day. (to the tune of Eddie Murphy singing the song I got some ice cream from Delirious.)

I've had the goofiest grin too.

Princess Lynda: Have a safe drive down. Each plane you see above you could be me waving :wave2: :rotfl:

:goodvibes I will be waving back at all the planes passing overhead! Good luck with the secret plan. I can't wait to hear how it turns out! And I hope to see you at the parade. ;) Have a safe trip!

Monica....just wanted to officially say....
:yay: :yay: HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! :yay: :yay:
Have a fabulous time you super secret agent! Gonna miss you here, there, and all the places I run into you every day!

There she goes again...taunting and teasing. :sad2:

Hope your secret mission...er, trip...is a complete success! Have Fun!

BTW, that chaise lounge at Hippy Dippy under the palm tree nearest Petals is MINE! Warm it up for me, will ya? :sunny:

Thanks Lexy!

Ok, very soon I promise I will start the trip report. I will just keep this going here.

We had a great time. Lots of great moments. :Pinkbounc I put the pictures on the computer and now I need to upload them to photobucket. I got a lot of notes to gather and decifer. I need to figure out how to do the video.

My goal is to start working on the first part tonight. Keep your fingers crossed. Trying to get major laundry done and flying through a weeks worth of Days of our lives.

Soon, I promise.

HEY Monica welcome home.....It was great seeing you at dinner....Aviva is still talking about the boys. And the pic I got of the 3 of them came out really cute.

Can you believe I am still sick but a bit better...coughing up a lung.

Cannot wait to read the trip report.

Hugs,
Dori

Dori, the picture I have is cute too. I'll send it too you.

I came home sick. Caved and took nightquil and was in bed by 9pm last night. Maybe today I can get going on this, if my head clears. Aviva is just too cute. Very outgoing!

The Trip Report Begins!

After work on Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving) we took the kids to Big Boy for dinner. Tim suggested this to make things easier for me. Mom didn’t have to cook, :cool1: wooo hooo  , and we had to use those free dinner coupons the kids got Trick-Or-Treating. The bill was still close to 30 dollars. Tim looked at me and I whispered, “They’re just getting us reading for Disney.”

The plan started.

Boys I have something important to tell you. We won’t be having a Thanksgiving dinner this year. :rolleyes1

They were actually sad. The two boys who have never willingly eaten a Traditional Thanksgiving dinner groaned. :confused3

Instead, we are taking your Nanee to the airport. We thought it would be fun to spend an evening at a hotel and swim before we take her to her plane. (She really doesn’t own a plane.)

They were ok with that. But DS8 made me promise a ham dinner afterward with pumpkin pie.

As we left the restaurant the waitress wished us a Happy Thanksgiving and DS8 told her we weren’t having Thanksgiving Dinner and she didn’t know what to say. Neither did I. So, feeling like a smuck we just walked out. I’ll have to go back there and tell her all about the surprise, now that I can. Maybe not.

Wednesday night was like the night before Christmas. We had to wait for the kids to go to bed. We had to let them stay up an extra hour on a non school night, cause that’s what we do here, and that last hour was just killing me. I was so antsy. My head was going to explode.

So the kids go to bed. We wait for them to fall asleep. I’m praying they are tired and well fed. We wait for the sound; you know the sound, the rhythm breathing. In slowly, out slowly, gurgly slurp from DS9, muffled snore from DS8, and nothing, not a peep from DD2, yep, they’re asleep. It was like a scene from the movie A Christmas Story. We sprang up and dashed for our bedroom.

We do the last minute packing thingy. What a joke that was. Who came up with the phrase Last Minute? We spent hours in our room doing the last minute stuff.

The suit cases were feeling heavy. So we tried to weigh them. On our bathroom scale. That my feet barely fit on.

We would weigh ourselves; DH had to leave the room when I did it, and then weigh us holding these over packed suit cases. (No, they weren’t LaLa’s, they were ours.)

“What’s the limit?” he asks.

50 I tell him.

The shuffling of the stuff begins. My very carefully planned packing gets a major overhaul and I don’t know where anything is anymore. Things are being tossed, jammed, separated, and I just stare. If I say too much we’ll argue. So, I do the only thing I can do.

I pack more to compensate for the chaos.

Makes sense to me.

It’s very hard to hold a suitcase on a small platform and look over it without wiggling. Every pound mattered here. What if there’s a difference between their scale and ours. You know like at the doctors. You always weigh more there. More stuff gets shifted and some stuff I actually start leaving out. Oh the horror!

We started with 4 suit cases. One for each abled body to carry. DD2 stuff was scattered in all of our cases.

In the end, there were 4 suit cases, 3 back packs, 1 very large over stuffed duffle bag, a stroller, and a car seat all to pack without it being obvious in the car. Got all the stuff in the laundry room cause we were just too tired at 2am to pack a car. We'll do it tomorrow. On Thanksgiving. Without them noticing.

When it was all over I had toothpicks holding my eyes open. This secret agent needed her rest. Even if it was only going to be a few hours. Again, getting us ready for Disney.

Yay! Great start, Monica! But what I really want to know is how the kids reacted when they found out where they were REALLY going. Guess I'll just have to wait.....impatiently.....for that info...... ;)

Monica, sounds like this is going to be a really fun trip report, just like the pre-trip.

YAY!
