I'm going through withdraw, it's been a year since my last WDW DVC trip and won't be returning until next January, is anyone else feeling the same type of pain.

Jean you read my mind this morning! We were just there for 6 days in October and currently we do not have another trip planned. We are going on a DCL mexico cruise in April 2011 and are hoping to do to DL in September but I am really wishing a wanting to go to WDW. I know my DH will never go for it because we can drive to DL and would have to fly to WDW but this year might be our last chance to go to F&W without kids. SO you are not alone in your sadness lol

Im in the same boat. We went in Oct to WDW and 10 days later to DL! But now nothing booked until December! AARGH!

We just got back 2 weeks ago from our very first trip ever to WDW. I am missing it already, so bad! I want to book another trip like, now! We went for 5 days and it just wasn't enough. I want to go again before spring and my DH thinks I'm absolutely crazy. ;)

Oh, gosh, yes. I/we are so addicted. We went in November. We made plans to go next November but that is too far away, so we decided we needed to go in August for my youngest son's birthday as well. Well, August is still too many months away!! So, we looked at the calendar and tried to figure out the earliest time we could go again without taking the kids out of school. We came up with Memorial Day and booked it. That is still too far away as far as I'm concerned. We have to borrow points for that but we're doing it anyway. Heck, I'll probably have to take out a loan to come up with gas money but it doesn't matter. I need that Disney fix!! I need it now!!! I really wish we lived just a little bit closer and had about 500 exta points!! We just can't get enough.

Oh how I sighed when I saw this post. I just spent a week of my vacation time in St. Maarten to help a family member with property there. While it was nice to go from 20 degrees (NY) to 80 degrees, I was not enthralled with the island and kept thinking...."wish I were in Boardwalk or Beach Club." You may not believe this, but I was actually bored to tears on that island. Casinos are not my thing and the beaches are nothing like Florida (e.g., Vero!!). I am also not one for sitting on a beach with a book....I like to move and be active. That being said, DD is graduating college in May and we are doing a Mother/Daughter in WDW in June....I just can't wait!!

We were there for 8 days in December, and our next trip isn't until NYE 2010. I keep trying to talk DH into a trip sooner than that, but compromised by agreeing to go for an extended trip starting NYE (17 days total).

I usually go every January, at least for the last 4 years and this year we decided to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise instead. Now don't get me wrong I am very much looking forward to the cruise, but I really need my WDW fit. We were at WDW last January, and won't be returning until next January, so that will be 2 years for me.

I try to stay in touch with WDW and get my WDW fit through these boards. Thanks everyone.

Here's the cure: plan the next trip. Doesn't matter if it's far out, if you know it's there, you can be thinking about it and planning for it! Can you tell I'm the PLANNER? ;)

Seriously, DH has to book a new trip as soon as we get back or he gets depressed. This started when we bought DVC. I am afraid I am an enabler with this addiction. :rolleyes1 How can it be bad when it brings us all so much joy?

Right now we are halfway through one of our longest ever stretches between Disney trips. June 2009 to July 2010 (we did go to DL in July 2009). It is killing us! DH may break down and take us to DL for Spring Break just to get a fix (we have family out there so it is actually cheaper for us to go there - plus, we don't spend as many days in the parks). But don't feel too sorry for us - we will be enjoying the Tree House Villas for 2 weeks in July, then boarding the Magic for a week in October!

We don't have anything planned after that, but we generally follow a two-trip rule - only have two trips booked out at a time. Otherwise, it gets confusing and you start feeling gluttonous or guilty. :sad2: We will book our Summer 2011 trip in July (we like going in June better, plus that will make good use of our APs), so we will still be following the 2-trip rule. Beyond that, we don't know...another cruise? a parents-only trip? Some things are better left to spontaneity and opportunity..that doesn't count toward the 2-trip rule, btw!:thumbsup2

Funny you should post this thread. I just happened to text a friend of mine on Friday and said: "Do you ever just want to jump on a plane and head to Disney for the weekend - it's killing me to wait!!!"

We haven't been to WDW since 01/10/09. We do have plans to go in May (of this year)...103 days to be exact but who's counting?!?! If you had told me when I flew out of Orlando it would have been almost a year and a half before I would return, I would have died! :sad1:

So... Yes, I can totally relate. Just about every hour of every day I think about going back!!! This upcoming trip is extra special b/c it is our first trip as DVC Members :thumbsup2

I feel your pain. I usually go to WDW in May and December but this year I am going to Italy in late May early June.
I have my December trip to AKV booked but really hate to wait that long. I only have 73 points left for this year and I do not want to borrow from next year, so I have been thinking about taking a trip in September. 4 nights would be fine for that time of year and I would love to stay in a studio at the BCV. I have just been looking at airfare for travelling the day before Labor Day or right on Labor Day and Airtran has some great rates.
I think I'll call on Tuesday to see if anything is available.

YES I can relate!! We just got home and my DD and I both cried :sad1: on ME bus to the airport watching the video, it gets me everytime. We only have one trip planned to DL to try out VGC, plus this will be a road trip (which I'm not thrilled about, think being stuck in car with teenager and very hyper friend for 12 hours :scared1:), I'm excited but it's a short trip... My DH said he wanted to skip WDW in 2011:scared1: so not sure when my next trip is and that is an awful feeling :sad2:

I am right there with you guys. I have not been since Oct 2008. That was due to having my second child due in May 09. However we have a 3 week trip planned in Dec of this year. I am planning and planning. Any body got tips for toddler. My son will be 19 months old at that time. My daughter is easy, she has been many of times and will be 8 years old by Dec.

DW & I normally go May & Fall. Last trip May 09, missed this fall because we visited daughter in Springfield, Mo. Won't be going until this December. We're both going nuts trying to figure a way to get one in before. Feel your pain.

I am definately in withdrawal! We were there in May '09 and next trip is Aug of this year! After going to WDW 3 times in '09 (will prob never happen again!), waiting a total of 15 months for another trip has been excruciating! Only a few more weeks until I can book dining. At least that is something to look forward to in the meantime!

We went to Vero in 2009 instead of WDW and are going to Vero again this summer. We plan to go to WDW the week after Thanksgiving which will be the first time we have been since June 2008!:scared1::scared1:

I feel like we have a "double whammy" going here...our last trip (only 2 weeks ago and it seems like forever!) was both Vero Beach AND WDW and we'll probably only do a short trip next January (hopefully BLT) so it may be 2 years before we see any of our "homes" again. WAAAA!!!:sad2:

We are ALWAYS planning a trip! When we come back From Christmas trip we start planning for our July trip and vise versa...It helps but its not the same. We plan on me retiring in 12 years and moving to Florida. We were actually looking this evening for property to buy. Sadly the real estate values are in the drink in Florida right now but happily our dollars can get us more right now as well. Double edge sword....Shawnpirate:

We just got back a few days ago and we don't have another official trip planned. The only thing planned is a Disney cruise May 2011!! This trip was fine but it was with the in-laws (never again) and it just wasn't the same. I'm trying to convince DH to start planning a surprise trip for the kids in May, before our AP's expire. I've only 12 points for 2010 left (thanks in-laws) and so I'll have to borrow 2011 points but that should be okay since we have the cruise. Can anyone say add-on time?!?!

We went for our first trip to WDW in October 2007, I had been planning the trip for 4 years! Bought into DVC, and planned for October 2009, then every year, due to kids school schedule and coming over from the UK.

Well, we had our October 2009 trip, now, due to the lovely economy, we can't take our next trip until the end of 2011! It is killing me to have to wait.

We are looking at using some points at Disneyland Paris, the points will expire before we can get to WDW again, even though they are banked. (That may not now happen as DH work is moving to a new site and we might have to buy a car instead, boo! )

I am seriously suffering, and hate the fact that I can't even book my airfare ridiculously early for another 3 months, lol.

Added to that fact is our 2 teenage DDs ( they will be 19 and almost 18 at the end of 2011)were a real pain in the behind for our last trip, even laid back DH has said he doesn't want to take them back for another 2 weeks of whining.
So I am alternating between feeling guilty that they won't be there and considering taking them anyway, and looking forward to the first holiday without the kids since forever, and treating it as the honeymoon we never had.

Sorry this is so long, lol.
