Missing school for Disney?

Not for disney.
But I miss school quite a bit for other things.
I just get my work in advance and work on it through the week, incase I have some questions about it. Then I finish it before we go on the actual trip and turn it in the day I get back.
Works out fine for me.

I wouldn't even think twice if I could go to Disney and miss a week of school. I do it all the time. Just send out a note to your teachers and collect the work you'll be missing. That way you don't have as much to catch up on when you get back. You can work on it during the plane ride, car ride, etc. and during any down time at the resort. It's very do-able.

I constantly miss school, and I do almost every time I go to Disney.

It's nothing to worry about.
Just be responsible and tell your teachers ahead of time, so they can give you some work so you won't be so behind when you get back.

we go to disney every year at christmas for a month. i miss about nine days of school. as long as i ask my teachers for my homework before i leave i works. :) just make sure u Do the homework lol

Nope.
We go during school breaks.

I went on a cruise last January, during MLK week so I only missed 4 days, BUT it was the week before midyear exams, and i missed the review in alll my classes.
I would advise you to ask your teachers if they know what they're doing/have planned the lessons for the week you'll be away (do this a couple days before you leave).
Try to at least look over any worksheets they give you, or skim through the book you're reading/the chapter your class is on. Try to fit in any work you're given before you leave, or on the plane so you have less to makeup once you're back.

Mm yes, going before midterms and exams would probably be a bad idea.
I generally don't need review for midterms so I'd be fine.
Exams, I'd have exemptions.

But I've heard that some peoples schools don't offer exemptions.. right?

I hadn't missed school for Disney since second grade, until this past October. It was my 16th birthday, we went from 10/4-9, and I missed the 4th and the 9th of school. I made sure I knew what I was going to miss, and when I did that, the teachers were okay with it.

ok i have never missed school for disney but this year i am i would just ask for the work the last school day before you leave and either bring it on the trip with u or finish it before you leave and then u wont be that far behind when u come back.

Only seniors get exemptions, and only for final exams, not midyears; to get an exemption you need an 80 (B-) or better in the class for all of 2nd semester.

Thanks everyone for all the replies! I think I'll do that, go to the teacher and ask for work. It's not that bad for me, we're on the block schedule (so we only have 4 classes a day) and right now I have pretty easy classes: band, digital photography, drivers ed, and math..so i'll only have homework and stuff in math.
I'm a Junior..and we do have exemptions, but you can only miss like 2 days and have a 90 or above. So, I won't be exempt from anything...but I guess I can deal with that!
From everyone's replies, it doesn't seem like it'll be too bad..and i'll only have one class of homework...i'm just known to be a worry freak!
