MISSING: sad UPDATE: body found, ex-boyfriend charged with murder

A 2008 graduate of the high school I teach at went missing Friday morning from her parents' home near Syracuse, NY. She goes to college in Pennsylvania and no one has heard from her there either... she came home for Thanksgiving. I didn't have her in class as a student, but many of my former students are friends of hers and they're all very upset.

Northeast DISers and especially upstate NY DISers in particular... please take a look at the link, spread the word, and say a prayer that Jenni comes home safely.

one question:

rumors are around about where they GPS'ed her cell phone to and yet authorities are saying nothing more about the cell phone, other than it is turned off. Can you GPS a cell phone that is off.

one worrisome thing is that, a week before and nearby, a young woman was attacked getting into her car. She fended off the attacker with pepper spray, but he got away. Everyone is seriously hoping there is no connection.

Pray/send positive thoughts for this young woman and her family!!!!

ETA: authorities just said they are searching areas based on her phone records, so it is not on GPS as others had said.

they are searching a very specific wooded area right now. Supposedly, her phone came on for a short time this afternoon.

some of the details concerning the boyfriend she broke up with six weeks ago do not sound good at all.

What a horrible thing. I saw this on GMA this morning. Was really hoping for a good outcome, but this does not look good. My prayers go out to her family.
