Missing one magic band-can I check in on line?

my family of four received magic bands on our trip three years ago. We go back to Disney next months but My daughter can’t find her band. I’d like to do on line check in but I think it says we all have to have bands to do this. Since we are from Canada I can’t even order a replacement for her to come in mail. Is it possible to do online check in and get our room assignment texted to me so we can avoid front desk check in and just get her a replacement band at our leisure (we are not doing a park in our arrival day)? Thanks
 
I don't see how having or not having an MB matters for check in. Nobody is required to use one. Have you just tried checking in to see what happens?

Yes it is. As wrdavis2 said, you don't need to have a MB at all to do online check in.

To expand using one example: if you forget and leave all your MB's at home you will still get the room ready text.
 
Nope, magic bands are not required for online check-in. Or for anything, actually, other than opening the door to your resort room, and there are alternatives for that.

Go ahead and do your online check-in anytime you'd like. :)
 

So did you decline your magic bands for this upcoming trip?
If not then I'd customize them and pick them up at the front desk so your daughter will have one.
Unless you're just going to purchase her a new one when you get there.

As for online check in you can do that regardless of having a magic band in hand.
Besides the system still thinks your daughter has one. It doesn't know she lost it.
You only need one magic band to scan for DME and even then you don't technically need one at all since they can look your info up.
Also there is no guarantee that you'll skip the front desk.
 
If you have a trip booked with tickets already purchased. You are entitled to a new MB for each ticket holder. Check your MDE account to customize. If it is still more than 30 days out they will mail them at the 30 day mark.

It has nothing to do with tickets.
You are only entitled to a complimentary magic band if you have an onsite room reservation which OP has.
If they were staying offsite and wanted magic bands they would need to purchase a magic banf.
The exception would be for AP holders as they receive a magic band.

Just to clarify the OP is an International (Canada) guest. No mailing of MBs. They are held at the Front desk for the guest to pickup.

Even if you do complete online check-in there is never a guarantee that you will get a SMS txt or email and get to bypass a stop at the Front desk. Also if you don't have a US base phone number, it is unlikely that you will get at SMS txt at any point.
