Are you the kind of person who, if you see a missed call on your cell phone from someone you know, that you would call them back, even if it hours later to see what they wanted or do you figure the person will eventually call you back?
What about if someone you know had sent you a text message and you happened to look at it hours later, would you call/text that person back?
I have one friend who is basically the only person, besides my husband, that I call or text from my cell phone. My friend is the type who ALWAYS has her cell phone glued to her, unless she is at home sleeping (she's a nurse who works nights). About a year ago she got a new position at the hospital she works at, and her schedule which used to be predictable, is now all over the place. Anyway, I admit that sometimes when I am out and about, I will call her to see if she wants to meets for lunch. Knowing that she ALWAYS answers her phone, if she doesn't answer, I do not leave a message, because it's just a call for lunch and I figure that if she is not answering her phone it's either dead (remember my comment about her with it 24/7) or that she is sleeping. Since I am usually heading to lunch within the next hour or so, I feel it is pointless to leave a message saying "Hey just wanted to see if you wanted to meet for lunch.". On the other hand, I feel that if she couldn't get to her phone in time, she'd see the missed call alert and call me back.
Now with the texting part of the question, I just happened, a few minutes ago, remembered that I sent her a text Sunday morning to see if she would be at church that day. We traveled over the holidays, so aside from a post on FB, it has been three weeks since we have seen each other. It occurred to me that it has now been three days, and I never got a response. Now if it were me, I'd text or call you back, even if it was a day later to answer you, tell you why we missed church (not that I need explanation, but I might say I was tired, sick, etc. In conversation).
Now this post is not to rant on my friend, it's just to get an idea of what you would do if you saw a missed call/text from someone you knew on your cell phone.
For me, I may not see things until hours or a day later, but I'd give you a call/text.
