hi everyone, our last trip to wdw was in october 2006,since then we have got married and had our first baby who is nearly 11 months now.
we know we cant afford to go back for at least a couple of years and personnally i think my son would have to be about 4/5 years old to get the most out of and to really appreciate his first trip there but i still really miss disney world now.
since my first trip there in 2003 we have gone just about every year and now its been just over two years and im desperate to go back.i cant stop looking at these boards and thinking about all the new stuff that is there that i cant see for a long time:sad2:
has anyone else ever been in a situation like this where they have to wait a few years to go due to finances or having a family?
and how do you cope?:) thanks for reading

We are waiting 3 years and its driving me crazy. DH got fed up with WDW, we bought a place in Spain and what with the price of flights to Orlando during the school holidays he said it was not worth going to WDW and to rent out our DVC points. (We drive to Spain in the summer).

We have light at the end of the tunnel as our DD finishes her GCSEs next summer before the school holidays so have a chance to go at a cheaper time (although will be really crowded and too hot but can't have everything!!)

We too had a break after our dd was born when we did not go from 1992 to 1998 so that was 7 years. Can't believe I managed that long!!!

Good luck and try to enjoy the planning stages

I know where you are coming from :sad2:  .
We go next month+it will be our first time back since 2004 :scared1: .
We had another child+wanted to wait until she was 4 to really appreciate it.
After this trip it will probably be another 2-3 yrs before we go again, because of finance.we don't use/don't have credit cards etc..we pay cash for everything,as we like to go on holiday+return from holiday debt free :thumbsup2 ,so that takes us longer to return.

But to keep my mind from going completley mad---well i had my 2nd daughter so she took my mind off of not going back for a while, but i would always look at the pictures of when me,hubby+first dd now 7 went, watch home movies, and then i found the DIS in 2007+reading other peoples trippies+helping other people with their questions helps the withdrawl symptons  .

Believe me it will come around quicker than you think :goodvibes Can't believe Jayden is nearly 11months old.x.

Hi,

yep going thought a similar thing myself with DH been the last couple of years and got married there 2 yrs ago now but with us going on holiday for my brothers wedding and other things to fork out for and we are trying for a little babino at the moment so DH thinks we should wait for 3 years :scared1: quite frankly the thought of not going for that long horrifies me as there is still so much that I want to do and see but I guess I cant have everything!

so I'm sorry but dont have any solutions other than go back and get your fix! lol I even tried staying off the boards for a while when we got back last time but sadly I couldnt even do that for very long!

you could always make a srap book of your last holidays to get your fix but I usually find things like this make me worse! :lmao:

I've been waiting four years since my last trip to WDW (now going in September!!), and that was HARD! I have been on these boards and focusing on other holidays (Disneyland Paris/ California). They don't compare to the world, but just focus on other holiday/ other events.

I won't say it was easy, but I am SO excited for this trip its unbelievable!

Realistically we wont get to go back to WDW before 2012. :sad1:
We are going to save til we can afford it properly and it's really driving me mad. I could cry to tell you the truth. My kids are 5, 4 and 3 at the moment and at a good age to go but finances will not allow. My youngest was only 18 months when we went and I feel guilty that he doesn't remember much but we will go back. Even if it is 3 or more years in the future.... :headache:
