Yet another mangling of Bennie and the Jets.....

My friend's cousin thought it was Fannie and the Dress. F-F-F- Fannie and the Dress. Fannie, Fannie, Fannie and the Dress..... All she had to do was look at the album and the TITLE of the song would have alerted her to the mistake. But we just kept quiet and let her continue enthusiastically belting it out really loud, because it was a hoot. Especially the F-F-F-Fannie part.

For years, in Drops of Jupiter by Train, I thought he was saying:

but this is what he was really saying:

And that heaven is overrated

I kid you not, I sang "mad libbin'" for years before it occurred to me mad libs didn't fit with the rest of the song and to look up the correct lyrics. I was when I saw what the real lyrics were.

My son heard the song Two of Hearts and thought she was singing Two Pop Tarts.

Downeaster Alexa by Billy Joel has the following....."I've got bills to pay and children who need clothes". he thought it was "I've got bills to pay and children who need booze." Booze is his favorite funny word. Maybe he just wanted to hear it in a song.
