This movie will be on The Weather Channel tomorrow night at 8 p.m.. Don't know when they started airing movies - or if they always have - but last Friday night they showed "The Perfect Storm"..

I'm not sure if I'll watch (or tape) "Misery" or not.. I've seen it at least twice already and that woman is so psycho it makes me cringe.. Talk about torture!!:eek::eek: She does play the part very well though..;)

Just thought I would toss this out there in case anyone is interested in seeing it..:goodvibes

I didn't know the weather channel played movies....guess I need to check it out.
I love Misery ::yes:: She is a great crazy!! I do own the movie though (love Stephan King)

I didn't either - until I saw "The Perfect Storm" advertised last Friday..:confused3 So far it just seems to be on Friday nights..

I love the movie too and own it on VHS. We don't even have a VHS player hooked up anymore.

Better than the Weather Channel though, it's on instant watch at Netflix for anyone who is a member.

That's somethign new for Weather Channel. They are now showing movies that have to do w/ weather, I think just on Friday nights. The night of The Perfect Storm was the first night.

My ankles were sore in sympathy for James Caan after seeing that movie . . . :scared1:

Sweet!! :goodvibes Thanks for the heads up!! I don't think I have seen it since the 5th grade! I am definitely going to DVR it...When you watched Perfect Storm was it commercial free? and was there a weather channel ticker of some sort at the bottom?

The first time I saw it, I swear I felt the pain - the second time I watched it, I looked away..:eek::eek:

i guess weather channel is showing it becuase of the blizzard at the beginning?:confused3

Sorry, I didn't watch "The Perfect Storm" because I have it on DVD - so I don't know about commercials and such.. :)

I read the book then saw the movie when it came out. The book was way worst, but the movie still made me wince.

Yeah - I picked up on the "weather" connection too..

Hmmm.. What other movies can we think of that are weather-related?

Pay no mind to the font, color, and size that I'm using tonight.. Just playing around to see if I find something I really like..;)

I always get Perfect Storm and Storm of the Century confused. Perfect Storm was a good movie with an inevitable ending. I love the Storm of the Century....so creepy. "Born in sin, come on in." :scared1:

Kathy Bates does a great job in Misery but it isn't a movie that I want to watch again and again. Must be a slow time of year for the weather channel.

Thought it was a good movie but a better book. I also thought Thinner was one of his best books by far. He certainly has a way about him...:tiptoe:

Funny thing is, I can't read his books - just don't have the patience.. The standing joke in my circle of book friends is that he takes an entire chapter to describe a blade of grass.. LOL.. "Descriptive" is good, but we personally feel that he pushes it way beyond the limit..

His books sure do make good movies though..:thumbsup2

I remember part of 'Misery' in the theater when I was a kid. We were there to see a PG movie and when I stepped out to go to the restroom, I remember hearing the show (old theater with thick velvet curtains across the door so not very soundproof) and sticking my head in to that theater. It was the axe part and needless to say I didn't stick my head into any non-PG movies for a long time after, not even for a quick look. :scared1:

It's a good movie. The scene with the ankles freaks me out! :scared1:
