Did you ever post something and someone thought that it meant something other than it did and then you felt really really really bad, like you should crawl under a rock or something, because what you posted was in no way, shape or form referring to that person?

I have. It is a terrible feeling. Its just so easy to misinterpret someone's words without the benefit of body language.

I'm sure your friend will accept your apology, JTB. It happens, but as long as its clarified that it wasn't your intention, I'm sure all will be well.

Been on the receiving end, just recently. Not fun for anyone. I was overly sensitive, and like everyone says, without benefit of inflection, body language and facial expressions, you just can't infer 'true meaning'.

I don't think any of my posts have been misconstrued, but I have accidently done this to others. I remember one time that when someone (I think it was Snoopy) posted a joke involving some pictures of computer geeks. She meant the post to reflect how successful geeks had become, but I saw took it the wrong way and criticized her for it. I appologized, but I still felt really bad about it.

I've done that a few times. I don't necessarily feel bad, because I didn't do anything wrong. I do feel a little worried that some people who misread it might not have read my explanation and continue to think that I said what I didn't intend. It's aaaaaaall good, though.

I don't post very often so I don't believe it has personally happened to me...if it has and the individual didn't tell me "I am sorry!"
I know it is difficult to always know what the person intended. If I am unsure I do my questioning through PMs rather than publically. I think it is easier to handle that way.
