Another thread has a mini-discussion about this embedded.
I think it's an interesting question.
It's like cilantro to me. Love/Hate relationship.

I'm on the Nay side. Tastes like mouthwash to me.
My husband LOVES them.

I say thank goodness they have Mickey beignets there. You?

We are in the process of planning our first trip to Disneyland so I have not tried one yet.
I have seen lots of posts about the mint julep. I am from KY and I can not wrap my head around the idea of a mint julep being bright green and no bourbon.
It just seems wrong. :scared:

I think it's refreshing. Put me in the Yay camp. (this could have been a good poll ;) )

Yay for our group, love them. They really bear little resemblance to an actual mint julep, but whatever they want to call them, we like them.

I have never had one anywhere. Could someone please describe it other than Scope? Like what is in it?

NAY! Tastes like cleaner to me (I for one love cilantro, but maybe now I know what cilantro haters feel)

I found this online...

Disneyland Mint Julep Recipe

Makes approximately 2/3 gallon
INGREDIENTS
1 cup sugar
3 tsp lime juice concentrate
3 cups club soda
6 Tbsp creme de menthe syrup (not liqueur)
6 oz thawed lemonade concentrate
mint leaves
pineapple slices
maraschino cherries
bamboo skewers

YAY! for me.
But, i do agree that it does taste a bit like minty mouthwash, and is nothing like a real mint julep.
Still, I love them :)

Love them! Even my picky grandson liked it.
But then, I have never had a real one, so may not be the best judge.
Try one, they're relatively cheap.

As a child I loved them. My parents kept an alcohol free home and did not frequent restaurants that served alcohol, so I never knew the "Real" drink was alcoholic. A few months into my first real job after college our team went out together after work. The happy hour special was a Mint Julep. I was so excited for a glass of Mickey Juice.

I ordered one and got the surprise of my life!

I don't like mojitos, so I doubt I'd like a mint julep, tbh.

I am definitely on the "Yay" side, even though we have only been to DLR once. I cannot wait to get these again in June....I plan on getting as many as I can :cloud9:
