Just struck me as odd that when WE used to hang out at surferrat's room and drink adult beverages we got slapped by the big white glove, but now it is OK for the Gator Waiter to serve Mint Juleps.

Or are they the non-alcoholic variety ?? :confused3

They sell a mint lemonaide in Port Orleans Square at DLR that they call Mint Julep

From MousePlanet.net:
Yield: Approximately 2/3 gallon
Ingredients

1 cup Sugar
3 tsp. Lime Juice Concentrate
3 cups Soda Water
6 tbsp. Crme DeMenthe (hard to find, but this is important)
6 oz. thawed Lemonade Concentrate

Directions

Dissolve sugar into soda water. Add lime juice and lemonade and bring to boil. Remove from heat and add Crme DeMenthe. Chill. To serve, combine 3 parts syrup to 5 parts water. .

Mint Julep Concentrate

A company called Bar None in Tustin California had produced a "take-home" version of the Mint Julep: you just simply add water. This is no longer available, even directly from the company.

What is a Dole Whip? Is it a beverage? Sold in the parks? I had a frozen banana (first time ever) in AK last year...

Pineapple Dole Whip
Adventureland

Ingredients:
2 cans (20 oz. each) DOLE Crushed Pineapple
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/3 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped

Instructions:

Drain pineapple; reserve 2 tablespoons juice. Set aside.

Place pineapple, lemon juice, lime juice, sugar and reserved pineapple juice in blender or food processor container. Cover; blend until smooth.

Pour into two 1-quart freezer zipped bags. Store bags flat in freezer. Freeze 1-1/2 hours or until slushy.

Stir pineapple slush gently into whipped cream until slightly blended, in large bowl.

Return to freezer until completely frozen, about 1 hour and serve.

Thanks for the explanation and recipe - but omg - how many calories are in that?!? But I guess I have to fall back on what my husband says about Disney food - there are no calories in WDW! To be honest, I am not a big in-park eater of goodies, despite the many, many choices. I have never eaten a churro! But I think the BEST snacks in Epcot and MGM are the nuts from the Nutty Bavarian - have you ever had them? They have glazed, roasted cinnamon sugar pecans and almonds and they are amazingly yummy.

There was a terrific hour-long Unwrapped special on The Food Network called Disney Unwrapped, and it focused on all of the food served in the parks. If you get a chance and it is repeated, check it out! The choices are just staggering, as are the numbers of things served.

:)
